Here we go again...

Just got back from Cedar Point.

Guess what: Since my last visit a few weeks ago (06/06), they have changed the seat belt routing. It now matches Millennium Force.

Note that the test seat has usually had this routing, but the trains have not. It's the trains that have changed, not the test seat. Also, the test seat has been moved to a more prominent location.

Oh joy! Thanks for the report.

Are we now going to have a 15 page thread about this in this forum now? ;)
That's just what I was thinking Topthrill420.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Last time I checked, it was 19 pages in the Millennium Force forum...

I fit just fine when I went on 6-13-04, but its probably because I am really small. They really push that lapbar down tight! I tired to keep my knees up so they would hit the lapbar and so they couldn't press it down further, but it went anyways. Of course, right before launching, I always push it down just to make sure... ;) Well, lets home this does not end up like the millennium force forum....

thank you.....and enjoy your record breaking ride on Millennium Force!

Sneaky people trying to defeat the lapbar by keeping their knees up is one of the first thing employees look for and probably is the reason they pushed your bar down so tight.

I noticed this when I went 5/28 in my on ride picture. I like the lapbar down far enough to where I can't move my mid section. I want to feel safe and make sure I'm never going to fall out when I ride that thing. After the ride op pushes the lapbar down I try to push it even further it's a habit I guess.

I noticed when I went like on the 14 of June it seemed shorter so I asked a ride op if they knew anything about them shortening the belts he didn't know for sure what they did. I do the same thing too, so they don't squoosh me harder in the mid-section.
Well, I for one made sure my lapbar was down and my seatbelt was pulled as tightly as possible. I rode last Friday for the first time and the ride seems to be working well. Load time was obviously slow as they had to deal often with seatbelt issues but I'm sure glad it was working and I got a ride.

Yeah I tighten the harness as much as it can. I don't want to feel too out-of-control on such a huge ride.

Westcoaster has a picture of the new Xcelerator system. The belt still goes underneath the side bar.

Anyway, I would be kind of shocked if either MF or dragster went through the off-season without some sort of change like this. It seems almost like a liability to have the rides even operate with the original systems. In the unlikelihood something does happen , I can’t imagine the settlement.

Also, anyone else find it kind of odd that every Intamin ride with a T-bar in the U.S. has undergone some sort of change in the restraint system, (whether it be harness added, seat belt adjustments, or ankle shackles) since they opened? Meanwhile rides like B&M inverts have remain unchanged. That sounds like quality research and design on the part of Intamin ;).

I have been on TTD a lot this year, maybe it's just me, but the belts seem the same. They are still on the outside of the bar.

Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!

Dave, I just rode it Sunday(1st time since May), and didn't notice any difference.
So, if they modify the seats like they did on Xcelerator (as per Joe E's link) will they lenghten the seat belts, and just be more concerned with if the gauge turns green? It seems to me that would be a better representation of if someone fit propperly.
