Help, weather is bad and I don't know what to do..

I am driving accross country starting thursday and our first stop is CEDAR POINT! I fear that it will rain thursday night while we use our twilight passes and friday all day. This is our only time in the park and we must leave saturday morning bright and early. Any tips, or pieces of advice for a california native who really wants to visit this park. How does the park react to rain. Please Help, and fast, my flight out to the east cost leaves in nearly 5 hours!

The decision is really up to you, since going to any outdoor park means that the weather will be a huge factor. As of right now, weather.com is saying AM showers on Thursday and scattered thunderstorms Friday. However, Ohio weather changes at the blink of an eye, so don't base your trip soley on their predictions. Chances are that if it does rain, it won't be for the entire two days you're here, and if so, most of the rides still operate in light to moderate rain. Good luck, and have fun.
I've noticed they're very quick to shut down the coasters in the rain. More so than any other park I've ever been to. But you can never tell which rides will stay open. I went last thursday, and Raptor was closed most of the day due to "wind" even though it wasn't windy at all. And while I was at the Gemini, it lightly started to sprinkle and they shut down the whole ride. It's just impossible to tell. Last time I went, we were supposed to have thunderstorms and it ended up being a great day. Good luck! ;)

The weather was supposed to be horrible all three days last weekend, but it only rained for about 20 minutes or so while we were in line for MF and I didn't see a single ride shut down, including MF.

If you have never seen a park shut down rides so fast, you have never been to PKI.  They shut down rides while I was there before it started raining!

I think CP has to be even more concerned about lightning than most parks because it is surrounded by water...even so, they kept all rides open while it rained briefly.

Not so much because it's surrounded by water but more or less because it's got a lot of nice lightning rods placed around the penninsula (a.k.a. coasters) which would create quite a health hazard if left running during a thunder storm
