I'm looking forward to going to Coastermania, but I have a few questions. I know you have to be a member of a Coaster club to get in oastermania. (or at least thats what I heard) I'm already a member of one but have never attended coastermania. Do they close off the park from the public? Do you have to follow the schedule? (not that I have a problem with it) And last, Do you have to sign up for it or do you just go to CP with some proof of ID from the club. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!
Heres coastermania agenda again TMsnake!! Its right here on this site asa matter of fact..AND YES it is open to the general public that day as normal..just not during ERT (Exclusive ride times)!!
Cedar Point PR staffers announced Coastermania details at the American Coaster Enthusiast's (ACE) No Coaster Con. Coastermania is an annual event that Cedar Point throws for the dedicated members of roller coaster enthusiast clubs. This year's schedule, slated for June 2, looks like this:
5:30 a.m. - Tollbooths open. Tickets available at Group Sales.
6:30 a.m. - Gates open.
7 a.m. - 9 a.m. - Exclusive ride time (ERT) on Raptor and Millennium Force.
2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. - Meal at Point Pavillion.
10:30 p.m. - midnight - ERT on Mantis - "Stand up and scream like a banshee (get it?)"
11 p.m. - 1 a.m. - ERT on Magnum.
Rides on Ripcord will also be available to attendees in groups of three for $8 each 9 a.m. to noon, and $10 noon to 4 p.m.
Discounted ticket prices will be $24 for a regular admission, $10 for juniors, $22 for seniors and $51 for a two-day admission.
To attend the event, you must be a current, official member of an established amusement park or coaster club. Each member may have up to three guests. To clarify, the park will be open to the public that day, but you must be a club member to attend the special events.

Thanks Jeff, I was in a hurry and didnt lok to see if any other similar question had been posted.
When in doubt about news events and such, check the news section of this site. I spent some time on that search engine! It has stuff in it dating back to April 1998.

I have a question about joining a coaster club. Can you be 15 and still join? And can you join GOCC by mail - if so can someone please tell me the address?

There is no age limit to joining a coaster club.

Hey genius, I'm only 15 and joining the GOCC too!

Thank you for riding Raptor and enjoy your day here at Cedar Point, America's RollerCoast!
I do have a question about Coastermania. Do you have to show up at 6:30 to get a button or can you show up at anytime during the day? I ask this because June 2 is a school day for me and unless I skip it, I won't get out to the Point until at least 4 P.M. Thanks for the help!
You can pick up your button any time of the day.
What about preregistration? I was at CoasterMania a few years ago, but don't remember. Do you just show up at the Group Sales booth with your ACE (in my case) ID and your guests and say "We're here for CoasterMania"?
And a tangential question -- if we have CP Season Passes, the "discounted tickets" is kinda moot, but do we have to pay anything additional? I kinda doubt it but figured I'd ask...
Does anyone know anything about Coaster Zombies? Can I join that club and attend Coastermania 2000? I might join that club instead of GOCC because it only costs $15.00 instead of $20.00.
In other words, you have to pay to be a member of the club in order to stand in line a little earlier in the day than normal. They make "exclusive ride time" sound like there will be a 10 minute line when in fact the lines will be just as long as they are all day long.
I'm skipping that day! You should too, Bradswag, just don't miss any days second semester.

Under normal circumstances, I would skip but I get back from vacation that Thursday. If I skip Friday, I'll miss the whole week before finals. I guess I might be able to get the parents to call me in because my birthday is that Saturday but I will have to take into account that these will be the very important tests seeing as how I'm a junior. I might just have to wait until next year.
I just hopped over to the official site they do a very good job answering many of the questions that people have. It's under the "What's Hot" bar. One last question though. Who is thinking about participating in the "Millennium Photo Contest"? After seeing many great photos on and through this website, I'm sure many CP Place posters will have pictures in this contest.
I'm gonna enter..I do each yr..

I have a question about ride operation on coastermania. Does anyone know if after the Summer Spectacular when they "kick" the GP out, are they going to be running ALL rides or just Mantis and Magnum for ERT.
Only those rides scheduled for ERT after park closing time.
I don't think I can remember ever seeing so many different threads with so many different questions about CoasterMania in so many different forums, so early in the pre-season...
