Help Finding Some Older Cedar Point Logos...

myxmastrmike's avatar

Hey all,

Im trying to track down some higher resolution/size images of a couple of older Cedar Point logos. Im looking to get the largest and highest quality I can as I want to use them in a Cedar Point tattoo im looking to do, and I want to supply my artist with the best images possible to work from.

These are the logos I need, with the 'Train' logo being the one im looking for most, as it will be the central piece of the tattoo..

If anybody has either of these logos maybe on an old park map or brochure and would be willing to scan it for me, (or could find it anywhere else) I would be forever in your debt...

Thanks alot for any help! ;)

I'll see if I can find the high res one that I used for my icon. ----->

I have some 3 old ones that are from CP workshirts of days gone by.

I can snap pics of them, but how do you want them sent to you or made available to you? Attachment to an email might be easiest if you message me with your email address.

Corkscrew and Rapids:
Thanks for the help...

Corkscrew: Definatly see if you can find that image. That might work out perfect.

Rapids: I'll definatly take some pics of whatever you've got.
Speaking of old CP workshirts. I have one (which may be one that you have) that I got on ebay (older park ride shirts and workshirts have become a collectable hobby of mine over the years) I have been trying to get an estimated year-range for when it was used. I'll post a pic of it tomorrow, but for now i'll just describe it.
The shirt is a white short sleeve button up shirt with blue trim on the sleeves and blue "loops" on the shoulders and has small 'Train' logos (id say roughly the size of a nickle/quarter) printed all over the shirt.

If that is one that you have, let me know what year(s) it was from... and if you ever feel like parting with any of your old crew stuff, i'd gladly make you a reasonable offer on them and give them a good home ;)

Anyways, thanks loads for the help, both of you. Please send any pics to my email. its my board name @gmail.com

Emailed you the pics. Hope they help. Can't place that shirt you are talking about, but the logos I am sending are from the 60's and 70's.

Be sure to show us your tattoo. Sounds like it will be awesome.

This is the same book that I got my icon from. I finally found the image of the scanned cover online. Here it is:

That's the "Amusement Land" Logo. It came into being after 1970, when it replaced the Centennial Star in Circle logo (definitely by 1972-73). It had a fairly long tenure, and was modified into the "Amazement Park logo.

Bill Abele

Which is still in use today.............

When you go to Cedar Point, go to the Candle shop in Frontier town, they have some old cans that look like 70's logos. There are candles inside them, we bought one last year, and it took us back :)

Haha I havent been back here in a bit, bit its funny you post that pic. I actually ended up finding it myself via a google search and it being posted on an amusment park forum. I ended up getting in contact with the guy who scanned and uploaded it (Its actually from a souvenier book which he posted scans of the whole thing). Thankfully he turned out to be a REALLY nice guy and found the book where he had it stored away and re-scanned that page JUST for me to use. I dont have the original scan he sent me handy (im at work) but heres a version of it after I removed the background color and sized it to how I need it.
