Ketchup is always fancy.
I like Red Gold ketchup. They are a company in Indiana and they are the nations largest producer of "store-brand" ketchup as well as what they label under their own name. We get a lot of Red Gold tomato products on the grocery shelves here in Ohio.
Heinz is, of course, the number one go-to ketchup in America, so it's bound to be a popular choice. But remember, there's sponsorship ties involved with the contract, so perhaps we shouldn't get all wrapped up in thinking the park is doing this as a favor to fans everywhere.
Am I wrong in thinking the park used to have Heinz, anyway, and it went away only to come back?
Am I wrong in thinking too much about ketchup?
IMO, at this point ketchup is ketchup, local, close to local or otherwise. It'll all do the job, as long as it's in the dispensers when we go to get some!! What could be of future thought.....dispensers with ranch dressing, or a good sweet & spicy mustard!
Keep passing the fun along!
Ketchup is ketchup, regardless of whether it has sugar or (high fructose) corn syrup? Many people would disagree with that sentiment, whether on health grounds or simply taste.
I don't pay any attention to what brand of ketchup/catsup a park/restaurant/venue uses. It's not like I can ask the counter person at Happy Friar or the server at Friday's to bring me my preferred brand. What they have is what they have.
Not to me. Whether a business serves Coke or Pepsi, Heinz or Red Gold, Hellman's or Kraft... what they have is what they have.
If I want to go out for a delicious hamburger, I pick a restaurant based on the burger, not the condiments or colas.

Red Gold is not an inferior product, it's just a good as Hunt's or Heinz. It's like comparing Coke, Pepsi or RC. They all taste a little different but they are all the same quality.
Gotta disagree. RC is much weaker than Coke or Pepsi

Still prefer Pepsi products.
This is a welcome change. One that may go unnoticed to many, but I always disliked the ketchup they used.
I'm pleased. The Red Gold was always seemed watery to me. I'm sure they are getting a good price and were smart enough to leverage the promotional value of the product placement at CP, just as I'm sure Coke was very happy to get their Freestyle machines and products more visably place about the park.

I won't see a difference, honestly I don't think I've used Ketchup in the park in years.
Last year was a Crab Fry, Beer, and Parmesan Garlic Fry year..oh with Cheese on a Stick
This year it doesn't look any different, well, aside from more beer.

Before Red Gold, neither Cedar Point nor FUN had a ketchup sponsorship. But I'm fairly certain that Cedar Point served Hunt's ketchup. I don't believe there is any family affiliation, but I always figured it was a quiet tribute to one of the company's board members and major stakeholders (1995).

All US ketchup sucks. The Canadian version of Heinz will change your life.
So, does that mean if we were getting the Canadian version of Heinz, we would have seen a better reaction from you?
I don't think there are many things I care about less than the brand of ketchup being served anywhere.

Indeed, I care much less about Mustard.
