Height/Weight Issue

Hi there, I'm planning my first visit to CP in May and am concerned that my size could be an issue (6'5"-205 lbs.). In the past I have developed bruises on my shoulders after the first day and as this is a three day event I will entertain any suggestions on how to overcome this issue. TIA, ~Chris
I wouldn't see any problems with weight. There could be a problem with Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Corkscrew with height issues. Not because of clearances, but because of leg room. You could ask one of the taller members about CCMR, but if you ride in the front seat on Corkscrew, you should have enough room.

I wouldn't worry about your height or weight size...Cedar Point is good for most people of any weight or height size...You will be ok on most modern rides that are fairly new...some of the older ones might be a problem because of leg room as stated above...But don't let that hold you back...Make the trip to the point...You'll have no problems and it's well worth the trip

Hey, I'm 6'1". I have some leg problems on some rides, however, they say on Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Cross your ankles for more room. It seems crazy and uncomfortable, but it works really well and it takes some getting used too.... :)

hey there...my BF is 6'3" or so and hasn't had any problems. so i don't think it would be an issue. i've seen MUCH taller and bigger people ride with no problems.

besides, you'll be with US at U2 Coaster-Con!! we'll take care of you!!

Um, I am about the same size if I lie about the weight:) and I have NEVER had a problem riding any ride at CP..(I have even squeezed into Jr. gemini and Woodstock Express:))

The only "major" coaster you will have problems with is The Mine Ride but just sit in the fist seat of any car and cross your ankles...

If the post from Servo means you are part of her group welll then you have BIGGER problems than your size:)j/k

You'll have a great time just be careful on Mantis...

On Cedar Creek Mine Ride, if you can't get into one seat, try another. There is only one locking position for the lap bars, and it's tighter on some seats than on others. I remember more than once last season waiting an extra train because one train had looser lap bars than the other. Trouble is, since the cars are completely overhauled each season, the seats that were better last season may not be this season.

I'm pretty sure you're not going to get onto the Jr. Gemini, either. Trust me on this one. :)

Coasterbuzz Track Record - 59
CP Track Record - 13 (too tall for Jr. Gemini)

as a general rule, the front seat of each CAR on a coaster has more leg room.

That's true for the Arrows and DT. As for the B&Ms and PTC trains on BS and MS, there's really no difference among the seats. Now on MF, I find the backseats to be roomier.

Yeah, I get a lot of leg room on the back rows on MF's cars. I am able to stretch my legs between the two front seats, so I like the backs much better.

Thanks for all the info! After just one day at a six flags park I was bruised but not completely battered and with this info along with some Advil if need be, or if at all, I'm not concerned. If you are at CP on May 19-21 and see a slew of U2 fans at the park or at Friday's at the Breakers feel free to give us a holler. ~Chris

hahaha OTT!!

hehehehe...you know me TOOOO well, i see!!

Because, as any U2 fan will tell you:

The GOAL is ELEVATION!

WOO HOO!

Look GTTPers, the U2 fans are approaching in just over 2 months! That includes Servo, mofomaniacal, me (RaptorRalpher), and CP Twister.

Our goal: Commandeering the LEMON train on MOFO and singing ELEVATION aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the way to the top!

WOO HOO!

I am also 6'5", and am about 30 lbs heavier. I have no problem. Just remember to cross your legs at the ankles for extra room

CP is very uplift mofo ;)

2 days to 2002 Coaster season UK, And 2 days to AIR.. :)

I'm 6'3'', 230 lbs, and I don't have problems with any of the rides, except for maybe Mine Ride. Sure, I cross my legs, and thats all good, but my thighs sometimes get crushed when they put the restraints down. Isn't there any way they could "modernize" the restraint system on that ride? Its so uncomfortable to have just the one locking spot. Anyways, all the other rides I'm ok with, as long as I sit in the front seat of a car.

I'm pretty sure the back seats of PTCs have more foot room than the front seats do, because of the 'toe bar'.

I'm think of 6 passenger PTC when you were talking about that. To clarify what you said the Middle (If it has one) and the back seat of the car has more leg room.
