Just to let ya know we have season passes and did not "buy a ticket at the gate". So you can get off that hang up. I never criticized any of the ride ops for doing "their job". I never made a scene to try and get the kid on. All I said was the kid is so stinking close that it would be nice. Stop trying to make it sound like we're sneaking him through on this big covert mission. 4 times out of 6 that day a ride op said he was tall enough to ride. We stopped at the gate EACH time and let them tell us yes or no. If they said no we continued on our way without one word said.

I guess for safety purposes, it is good that they have to be 48 inches But why not at least try to let the child sit in the seat. If he or she is still too small for the restraints to properly work, then don't let him/her ride. That's where I think it should be the parents choice.
The only thing that would do to the rides is hold up the operation and create long dispatch intervals. It would be equivelent to guests being to big to ride. It might even take longer. Like arms_down said the manufacturer sets the height requirement at where it is 100% safe. If they set it at 47 1/2, then everyone would complain that at 47 inches it should be safe because it is only 1/2 inch. It would be never ending. The height restrictions are set for safety and they are enforced properly by CP. There should be no argument here.
