CP_bound, That has not been my experience - be careful. If you refer to Gerg's links above from the web site, if the child is real close they will send them to the park office for an official measurement. Each time we went they made them take their shoes off .If they pass they will give them a wrist band so they won't have to be measured the rest of the day. If your child is real close to one of the requirements you may be better off getting them officially measured when you get to the park and avoid all the hassles at each ride.

You could also bring a pair of shoes with slightly tall heels on them. The height required is in shoes, not bare feet.
Cedar Point says: "a standard play shoe which does not contribute excessively to the child's height is required. For example, a child is not permitted to wear platform shoes to help meet a height requirement. Cedar Point reserves the right to ask that shoes be removed to ensure that a child's height is not being artificially enhanced or manipulated".
I saw them ask a kid to take their shoes off on opening day at the Dragster Station (the kid made it in socks, but just by the tiniest fraction of an inch.) The last thing you want to do is wait 3 hours and then not ride!
I'd highly recommend getting a wrist band at Park Ops, Town Hall or the Resort Gate if you're close height-wise. If they won't give you a band, I would NOT bother waiting for the ride. It's "almost certain" they'll turn you away too (you'll get nailed at the station, even if you manage to get yourself into the queue). You will have wasted a lot of time in line...
