Height Requirement

Maybe i was dreaming or something, but I thought i read somewhere that Xcelerator had not only a height requirement for short people but also tall people. Like, you couldnt be over 72 inches or something. Anyone know if the too tall part is correct? Again, if I am way off base I claim temporary insanity.
I believe that if your head goes over the headrest [meaning your whole head], you can't ride, as well as the minimum height [48" probably] on all coasters

I assume that the new coaster will also have this rule, as well as the oversized headrests. I hope that my head doesn't go over it, but if it does, there's nothing I can do about it. :(

72 inches is only 6 feet. You're going to have quite a few pissed off people if you have a 72 inch limit.
Actually, the minimum heighth to ride Xcelerator is 52" and I believe the maximum is either 77" or 78" tall -- your head must hit the headrest for the launch.
Thanks for confirming that. I hope I am not too tall to ride. I will not be too happy if I am denied a chance to ride this monster.
According to the Knott's site, there is no maximum height restriction for Xcelerator (just the 52" minimum).

Knott's Height Restrictions

It's possible that exceptionally tall people would not meet the "generic" requirement about restraint systems needing to be "positioned properly" (quote below):

"Maximum recommended weight limits are posted at each ride, and all passengers restraint systems including lap bars, shoulder harnesses and seat belts must be positioned and fastened properly to allow guests to ride."

FWIW, I would expect a "very conservative" (i.e. restrictive) set of rider requirements for a ride going 400 ft up & 100+ mph... Probably 52" with a "very secure" seat/restraint system (large people beware). CP will approach a ride like this with caution.

Hey, I heard a rumor that Millenium Force is sinking...

They were defintitely strict about the head hitting the headrest. I saw a person who was no more than 6' 7" or so not able to ride because of where his head hit the headrest. In thinking about it further, the 77" or 78" number actually came from SFMM Deja Vu...I believe that you very well may be correct that the generic statement about "ALL restraints (including headrests) must be able to function properly in order to ride" was the overriding factor.
