Height requirement?

It's sure taking a long time to get the minimum height requirement out there. Are they going to have to test the ride first? I remember when they announced WT the height requirement was announced soonafter. I'm not going this year if my daughter can't make the requirement(she's 51 1/4" currently without shoes). If it's 54" I'll be going next year.

Is it that different than Xcellerator that they can't get a number yet? I thought the restraints were the same.

I believe that they tested MF before slapping their height requirement on it. It wasn't until a year later that they lowered it to 48". My guess is that they will test it first and then announce the height requirements.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

The restraints are the same as Xcelerator, slightly different than Millenium force. I'd suspect it will be a 52" height requirement just like Xcelerator since the negative Gs will be about the same.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Dragster’s height requirement is 54”. Cedar Point takes a very cautious approach to height requirements. Intamin recommended a 48” height requirement for Millennium Force, yet it opened with a 54”, but was lowered in 2001.

Xcelerator is just 52 inches? I figured it was 54 inches like Hypersonic XLC. Oh well, my 9-year-old will be fine with 54 inches, I'm just hoping (for his sake) that the ride isn't so radical and the restraints so uncharted that they go for a 56 or 58 inch height requirement. Anyone know if that's possible? I don't think there's a coaster anywhere that is more than 54 inches.

I don't think the restraints will be a problem for those meeting the height requirements. I've heard that someone who is too tall for his/her head to fit in between the head restraints might have a problem.
