Hear-say about ride/restaurant

Okay, the glass floor is great (and one of the scariest moments of my life), but lets keep it to the ride. LOL.
I thought we were talking about a restaurant...

Dick Kinzel is trying to get Casino Gambling legalized in Ohio so he can turn Breakers Express into a Casino.- overheard by myself at Louie's in the summer of 2000.

I don't know about turning Breakers Express into a Casino, but it is well know that Dick Kinzel wants to make sure CP has a casino if casino gambling comes to Ohio. There was an article in the PD a few years ago saying that CP even contributed money to the casino gambling group, to help the issue pass. I can see a nice, new casino going up next to Breakers Express if gambling comes to Ohio.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

I think CP family park image would kinda go away if they add a casio any where on the point.
Actually, I think it would enhance it to some extent. I know I'd have NO trouble getting my husband to CP if he could spend a couple hours in a casino while I was off riding coasters.

I think that they would put the casino on the Point some place, even if they had to either fill in part of the Bay or put it on stilts in the Bay. Why would they give up the parking fee that they can collect from everyone who would go out there? And, besides, having to pay the parking fee might keep some of the riff-raff out.
Dick Kinzel and the Cedar Fair company aren't out lobbying for gambling in Ohio. When the issue was being discussed some years back, Cedar Point's position was...if you are going to legalize it, give us one of the locations.

Makes sense if you think about it. What other entertainment company in Ohio would be better equipped to take on something like this? Hotel rooms, cash control, police department, parking, etc.

I am pretty sure that Kinzel stated that they would take measures to separate the operations, even in the physical sense. The casino would have likely been built on the current Breakers Express property. The other option, of course, would have been to go to a casino boat operation like they have in Mississippi.

Cedar Point wants casino gambling. They have for years. It would be a perfect fit to add to their "resort". It definately would be off site though. More than likely somewhere on the water to have acces to the water for a marina. So I'm thinking more along the lines of Raddison.

And while we are into the whole resort thing, CP should buy up the land east of the causway drive. Bayshore Estates (trailer park) and Bayshore Campground. Then they could build a golf course and truly be a resort.

it would be really nice of CP would move the parking lot over to the mainland, and make like a monorail system to get you to the point, that would be very expensive...but, would get CP alot of space. the monorail would so nice going near the causeway over the water. and maybe a boat ride, just like disney has it. which is really nice how they have it there.

I thought the park might jump at the land across Cleveland Road from the Radisson and just to the east of Roeder Harley-Davidson and Econolodge. But now another group has plans there for an indoor water park/resort similar to Great Bear Lodge.

If they were to build the worlds tallest restaurant they would have to build it out of cement. A structure that high on steel supports would blow over like a paper cup.
HOW ABOUT A RESTURANT WITH A COASTER GOING THRU IT EVERY 3-4 MIN what a novel idea..:)

Since aboput the time gambling began to pop up in every surrounding state.

One more time for those that are i.q. challenged. Cedar Point isn't begging for gambling to be passed in Ohio. But, if Ohio does legalize casinos, Cedar Point wants to be considered as one of the sites.

Why is that concept so difficult to understand?

For most people it is not hard to understand. But I still think it will tarnish there Family park image.

Last I checked, the Sears Tower is made of Steel and Glass, not a whole lot of concrete anywhere but in the foundation (footers). It's in the so-called "Windy City" and has yet to topple.

I think that if casinos were legalized in Ohio that one of those floating casinos would be ideal for Cedar Point. They could dock ever hour or so so that people could get on or get off. That way they don't need to use real estate for a casino...just customize the marina for a cruise like ship.

First of all, the Sears Tower does not have the world's highest revolving restaurant, nor is it even the largest structure in North America... but it is the tallest building in the USA and made of steel... and as 2Hostyl pointed out, it does not blow over. I personally think this has more to do with the fact that the building's footprint is larger than a city block, and its weight exceeds 201 849 000kg (445,000,000lbs).

I think what Canadian Rider was trying to say is that in order to build a tower large enough to beat the current record of 351m (1,150 ft), it would have to be made out of cement... or I guess it could be the size and mass of the Sears Tower and made out of steal...

...right ;)
