I'd assume that Intimidator is worth doing, and I've actually heard good things about Vortex (the standup) as well. I'll be visiting the park later that week, so let us know how your trip went!
Intimidator is basically Diamondback reloaded. (If you have ridden DB)
Harmony Hall BBQ. The brisket is amazing. Especially for coming from an Amusement Park.
Be sure to ride Thunder Road as you won't get the chance again. (Its closing)
Drop Tower is great, one of my fav's as it's a Intamin 2nd Gen.
Intimidator is good but not as good as Diamondback IMO.
Their flying dutchman is top notch. The only one with corkscrews instead of in-line rolls.
Really good Arrow looper, it's a little rough but a great ride.
Ricochet is a good wild mouse. Not as good as the one @ KD but still really fun. Laterals, lol.
Carolina Cobra is a must ride as it has the new Vekoma vest restraints. I haven't ridden another sit down boomerang as I loved the restraints on this one.
Afterburn is also great ride. Maybe even better than Raptor IMO.
Like Jbum said, Harmony Hall has some great food. Also you can get a funnel cake on the dinning plan down there. The only park that i've seen do that.
Their "Big 3" of Afterburn, Fury 325 and Intimidator is arguably one of the best in the country. IMO Afterburn is just behind Banshee. I have a sweet spot for inverts that use the batwing element though.
Thunder Road is a must as it's being removed next season.
Their Vekoma flyer can easily be skipped unless you're a credit whore and want it. Will most likely be your longest wait of the day.
From what I have heard about the funnel cakes is that it was accidentally included on the park map and rather than reprint all of them, it was cheaper to just honor it. During opening weekend, they weren't even scanning the passes for the plan since it was an oopsie and it wasn't entered into the POS system.
Carowinds is a great park. I wouldn't mind calling it my home park at all. Though I would miss TTD.
