Hay Walt... Isnt that.......

Marcia and Jan Brady in your historical Calypso pic? :) Very nice picture. I almost forgot about the covers over the cars... Truth be told, Were you taking a picture of the ride or the girls?

Neither - I didn't take the picture. It's a scan out of an old Cedar Point booklet. The only reason it's in the gallery is because someone asked how the ride looked in the past.

I think it's pretty obvious...

The sad part is that the only things that identify them as girls are the purses......boy am I glad I missed the 70's

By the way, who thinks it looks better with the covers on?

I don't think Jan or Marcia were ever that hefty as the female on the right (no offense to whoever is in that photo). I think the 70's would have been great to be around in. I dig the covers by the way :)

The covers look great

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

That's the way I remember them, yes them. In the 70's CP had two of them. The Calypso had a twin up by the Trabant and the Scrambler, near the Skyride station. The paint was different, dubbed the "Tiki Twirl", but it was physically the same ride.

Everyone looks so funny in the picture. But someone will say that about us in thirty years.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Stupid kids in their baggy jeans and hoodies...

In thirty years, people will think you look funny.

Huggy, did you read his post before quoting him only to say it yourself?

I'm sure people will think that in 30 years, but that just means the 70's will be twice as funny.

At least in the 70's people pulled their pants up all the way so that they didn't show butt crack.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

From someone who grew up in the late 60's and early 70's, I can say for a fact that fashion today is so very simlar to fashion of the 70's. When I looked at that picture (before reading responses in here) I laughed when I saw the fashions.

We had hip hugger jeans (now called low rise), flared sleeved tops, "hankerchief" tops (don't know what they call them now), cropped tops, and skirts and shorts so short you wonder how girls can walk without showing their underwear. All fashions girls are wearing today.

And believe it or not, long hair appears to be back in style again too.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

If only I had a picture of myself right now. I have hair down to my shoulders.

I love the 70's look. I dont know why, I just think it is awesome with the whole disco mentality.

It's just the colors I don't like.

*Tearing thru albums trying to find picture of me within last 6 months*

I grew up in the late 70s and early 80s... Ah the good old days.... What am I saying? I never have grown up!

I just cut my semi-long hair off today. :-( I like the long haired look, but mine is way too wavy to have it look good.
