haven't been to CP since 2007....

I am going thursday! Used to be a season pass holder and then being pregnant took over lol. Taking my 6 year old for her birthday! She is 46" so I will be doing kiddie stuff for the first time.

Can anyone tell me a good place to eat, (are subway prices insane?) Or what has changed since 2007, what I should do with a kid?

Do they still do parent swap? My sis is coming so hoping to parent swap and get on some of the big coasters. I miss them! Thanks!

They do still do the parent swap, and for a good place to eat I would have to recommend Panda Express. Their prices are pretty decent for the amount of food they give you. If the kids don't like Chinese, then Chick'fil'A will be a great place to go. (Whenever I go I usually tend to go to the chain businesses because the normal park food can be a tad expensive. I hope you have a good time and your kids will probably love the new Gemini area with Pipe Scream and Lake Erie Eagles! :)

Arms Down, Head Back, and Hold On!...Arms Down!...Arms Down......

At 46 inches she'll be able to ride a whole variety of rides. she's tall enough for everything in the 3 kid's areas. Kiddie Kingdom and Planet Snoopy are on opposite sides of the old Coliseum. Both offer a wide variety of children rides. Other rides at the front of the park that you can ride together are the old carousel and Ocean Motion.

The front of the park also has Troika, The Big Wheel and Sky Ride which you can ride together.

There are numerous flat rides throughout the park that both of you can ride. Scrambler, Monster, Super Himalaya, Matterhorn, Tilt A Whirl, Lake Erie Eagles, Pipe Scream and Dodgem.

The back of the park has another children's area behind the Gemini Midway is Camp Snoopy. In Camp Snoopy you'll find two kid size coasters --- Wilderness Run and Woodstock Express.

The car rides (Turnpike cruisers, Antique Cars and the Cadillac cars) are also good rides to go on together.

Yes. The park still offers the ride swap so you and your sister can squeeze some coasters in too! Stop by the guest services office inside the front gate to sign up.

Food isn't cheap but you can mitigate some of the cost by buying the all day meal plan or pre paying for single meals online before you go. Some of the meals may be big enough to share depending on how big of an eater she is. The chicken tenders and pizza are both pretty good portions. Plus, the park has hotdog and bratwurst carts scattered around that aren't terribly expensive. Another option for a snack is the refillable popcorn bucket that you can find at a few stands.

Thank you MagnumForce14 and Brian! Great tips. I am seriously so excited. Excited for Shoot the Rapids and Pipe Scream since those are new to me!

The popcorn bucket is a great, inexpensive ($0.95/refill with the Platinum discount) way to keep from getting hungry between meals.

Brian's post pretty much sums up a lot of what I was going to recommend.

To save money on food, our family packs a cooler with sandwiches/juice boxes/fruit/veggies and a bag of snacks almost every time we go to Cedar Point. If we're going to be there for an extended part of the day, we often exit the park and eat at a fast food joint nearby for one of our meals. There's a McDonald's, DQ Grill and Chill, Burger King, Subway, Arby's and Wendy's all within a 10 minute drive on Route 6. There's an even bigger selection of restaurants and fast food places on US-250. Our kids love the Thirsty Pony, but that's also a bit pricier.

We use Parent Swap all the time. Hope you have fun!

One important tip is that you can bring in as much unopened bottled water as you want.

Your daughter would've been able to ride Iron Dragon, but they changed the requirement this year.

+1 Thirsty Pony. It's 5 minutes from the park with great food and entertainment. The restaurant is geared towards adults with alcohol and off track horse betting but it's still a family friendly aptmosphere. I've taken my 9 year old there when she was younger. One of my favorites.

Agreed on Thirsty Pony. And I find it to be a great value, not expensive at all.

Another great place to stop at away from CP is Chet and Matts. Nice family friendly atmosphere and great pizza!

I would recommend eating at the park. It is more expensive than the outside places but I would suspect it will be difficult to tear your first timer daughter away from the park. In my opinion spending a few extra dollars for park food is worth the extra 30 minutes of smiles that you will get from her if you eat in the park versus going outside.

The prices at the Subway in the park are terrible. Avoid the place at all costs!

+100

Thanks everyone!! Yes I did notice the height change for iron dragon, a bit bummed on that one!

I noticed the medium crowds, dead week certainly isn't dead anymore like it used to be.
