Haunted Houses

Last year I went to Halloweekends and I loved the experience. BUT I was too chicken to go into A Haunted House. I was asked by family members even younger then me but I refused. I guess I was just being a baby and I regretted not going afterwards... Can anyone tell me how they are? I mean are they really that bad?

No, their haunted houses have not been bad in my honest opinion. Although we can't predict how the new ones will be, Cedar Point is a family park, and they will not do things that are physically harmful or emotionally traumatizing to their guests . I know that last year the one in Disaster Transport's building was fun. The actors aren't allowed to touch you, so you don't have to worry about that. It also helps to take someone along who you can hold on to if you're really scared. Make them walk in front of you. Good luck!

CP haunted houses don't even compare to some of the ones I've been in before.  Don't worry about it, like was mentioned, they can't touch you, and CP is a family park.

Majin..Being that I run a Haunted House, Its a good rule of thumb that NO haunt ever touch you. Some cities, townships, or villages make a law that you can not be touched. Lawsuits Lawsuits Lawsuits.

As far as the haunts go at CP, they are fun and i will leave it at that. Our haunt is designed to Scare the %$#^ out of ya, but CP's style is to please the guest and give them those startled scares rather than the "brown spot on your..well nevermind" kind of scare. CP uses a lot of animatronics and technologies that most don't but one thing I've always thought they lacked was people in the haunts. You can use fancy props and animatronics but nothing scares better than haunt full of live bodies doing spontaneous things to get a jolt out of you. I really hope CP adds more live bodies in the haunt this year to liven or deaden things up :-)

I've been working on my haunt and hauntwebsite non stop the last 6 weeks and were looking forward to Halloweekends at CP just to take a break.

Sparty, I know what you mean about the brown spot. ;)  When I was in high school I helped build/design/work a haunted forest north of Columbus.  I always loved doing the chain saw, best spot was at the bottom of a small hill just after it rained.  I come out of nowhere, fire that saw up, and I had people on their hands and knees trying to crawl up this muddy hill.  It was great!  Talk about brown spots, they had 'em all over! ;)

No, they are not very scary. The one I was in just had doors slamming all over the place. And there was a room where there were lots of people in camaflaouge and they were walking around but not doing anything very scary.

What's the best day to go?  Are Saturdays really crowded?
Avoid the last Saturday at all costs, it gets extremely busy. Saturday's besides that arn't too bad though. Sunday as always is a better day to go than a Saturday, but weather does play in a bit.

Once I was in a haunted house and I was taunting a 'ghoul' saying 'You can't touch me!  You can't touch me!'  And then the person touched me with his finger and I was screaming 'I'am going to sue!  I'am going to sue!'  Everyone in the room (including the ghoul) was laughing.  But by saying that they can't touch you means you can't touch them.  I knew someone who went into a haunted house and tore off someone's mask, they had police rushing into the building and cops checking people's car!  Dispite how funny it may be, we really don't need anymore of this... ;]
Hey, I wouldn't mind knowing where Jeffrey Spartan's Haunted House is located. I live in Bay City.
