Hat Question

Kind of a weird question, but I think the people who were at media day can help me. On TTD, do they make you put your hat down your shirt, or can you fasten it around your belt loop?

I've always done it around my belt loop and had no problem. Last year on opening day, I was told to take my hat off my belt loop and put it down my shirt. I complied, but almost lost it during the ride. After that, I would just hold the thing if they told me to put it down my shirt.

I would think you could put it in your shirt, but I can't say enough how surprising the magnitude of air flow really is.

Yeah seriously. Did you SEE that guys face? His face was MOVED back. How crazy is that. I am sure that might have an effect on a hat in your hand, beltloop, OR shirt. It's kind of freaky. . .and I can't wait.

Ross: Do you have a minute? I’d like to talk to you about something I’m, I’m really uncomfortable talking about.

Joey: Sure. What? About uh, you showering with your mom?

Ross: I actually had a topic in mind!

I put my hat in my shirt, which was tucked in, far enough that the lap bar would catch part of it. When that pretty blond stomped on my.............................................lap bar (said in a squeeling falsetto), I knew my hat would be back on my head, soon.

Well, since I was wearing a jacket today, I simply attached it to the zipper and tucked it inside the coat. Worked pretty well.

Among my group of friends we lost 3 earrings, a bracelet, a map, and a watch. I would reccomend leaving your hat in a locker, or if you want the shade of it in the line, maybe you could sit on it.

Yeah, I usually sit on my hat, or zip it into my zipper of my jacket... Errm.. thats hard to explain how I do that :P
Don't sit on it. Air time and it will be gone. Put it down shirt and partialy inside pants.
I came this close to posting a response that ended "where the sun don't shine" but then I said Naaaaah.
I just tucked my shirt in and put my hat inside my shirt. That worked for me.

Launch that sucker...Yeah!

I sat on my hat and had no problems.
Down the shirt for sure and pinned with the lapbar if possible.
Whatever you do, don't forget to take it off or it's a goner (Past experience on MF, cya ADIDAS toque!)
I'm sure they will warn you and tell youinstructions too

I was in the 2nd train so when we pulled up I took my hat out of my shirt and attached it to the grab bar...I trust it there more than in my shirt. My friend almost lost his glasses. He put them in his sweatshirt, which I was hesitant to let him do, and when we got to the brake run he freaked because they were gone. I looked down, and they were just sitting there between our seats. Close one...I don't think he'll do that again.

The Matrix: Reloaded!

I usually only wear fitted hats, so I'm not sure how good attaching your hat to something would work. I always just put mine in my shirt, and I haven't had a problem yet.

Richard, what'd you do?

speaking of glasses, is it a good idea to wear glasses on TTD, or is it a big no no. I have a strap that goes around my neck so i guess it would be considered "secured" for CP's sake, but it's still kinda loose fitting and i love my sunglasses (really kool nike's). So far i haven't really seen glasses on peoples faces in pictures, so any information is appreciated.

Glasses* must be secured. (*Power Tower and Top Thrill Dragster riders must secure their glasses with a tight fitting strap around the back of the head to ensure the glasses do not fall off while riding).

I wear hats to the point that are adjustable. That way, when I get on a ride, I just hang on to the hat around the adjustable part. As long as you keep your hand closed around the hat at all times, it's not going to go anywhere. I did try and sit on my hat before on blue streak and it's not easy to do. You get that airtime and your hat stays unprotected for a second. I was trying to fight the airtime on the ride to stay down on my hat and got leg cramps because the leg room is small as well. That was the last time I tried to sit on my hat. I was kind of limping the rest of the day from the after effects of trying to fight weightlessness and losing.

Thanks Tek Guy, but i already knew that, that's why i said it would be secured by their standards, but i'm still hoping to hear from someone who has been on the ride. Do you think they would stay on even with a strap? And how's the wind in the eyes, because i want to be able to keep my eyes wide open the whole time.

First off, I didn't get stapled too bad.... :) I've had worse on Villian and Ghostrider... and Xcelerator because I wasn't ready for it ;)

Second, I wouldn't try to wear glasses on the ride unless they were glued to my head. But if you have one of those tight straps and good luck you might be ok ;)

Lastly, I didn't notice much "wind in the eyes" but I sat in the back (airtime!) and didn't really notice it.

Oh, Vanessa, I almost caught something on Wicked Twister that came floating out of the guys pocket in front of me. It was pretty funny. I am kinda curious how you could lose a map though *scratches head*
