has anyone heard if the part that broke on TTD has been put in yet or even arrived??? Also does anyone know if they will leave a coaster on the track to test it and make sure that it is working when it comes in???

Because if it comes in now or next spring will really make a difference on if you get to ride it before May.
For your information, it came in before closing weekend.
On Dragster's cable spool there are two gearboxes. In the intial breakdown in September one gearbox went out. Then it reopened and in 2 days the other side went out.
Are they going to overhaul the hydrolic or just replace the broken parts.
Yeah new year, and finally got my license, well back in august. Im in need of a trip to the park.
It's hydraulic CPKid.:)
What exactly do the gearboxs look like? Ive never really took them into consideration untill now.

How do you know? and if it did, why didn't Cedar Point try to get it to work before the park closed?

I would think it was because they didn’t have enough time to put the part in and test it. I think it would of also have had to pass an inspection, but I'm not entirely sure.

Well since they have the webcam on the first Station of the Skyride, you never know. Maybe we could begin to see testing on Top Thrill Dragster. I mean that would something to see.
I actually think CP said the part is scheduled to come soon after Oct. 30. I know it said on the 30th in some places and others said after. And here I go again, talking about things that don't really matter. (Offseason 2005-2006 is in full force) :)
I don't know if this was noted, but only 3 trains were on the storage track closing weekend. The other three were near the electrical building. I wanted to get a picture, but it wasn't physically possible unless it was taken from PT, Gemini, or Iron Dragon (and I don't do that)

I will now return to my duties as a garbage man.

Lil Bird, and it wasn't important. Why hurry up and get it running again to have it die once again?
If that's the case why fix it at all, it's bound to "die" again. If they don't want to fix it for the park visitors then why keep. Which I'm sure is not the case.
I have two guesses:
One is that they probably put the part in and did a series of tests to see if it would work right, and if it got the ok they wait until April (or something) to do more tests. Two is that they have the part but want to do some off season research into problem prevention, or something like that, and wait until March or April to put the part in and do testing.....though I think that guess is a bit stupid.:P
Either way, I believe they will be doing some major research and tweaking/fixing.
