Just curious if any one could confirm that Media Day will be May 1st. Now before you get all nuts, saying "u can't go yo have tobein media", I realize only acredited members of the media are sent invitations, but I'd still like to know. Thank you, and don't have a cow.

Media Day is indeed on Thursday, May 1. For everyone that's not going, you have two ways to have an "at-home" media day experience.

1. If you are in Northern Ohio, SE Michigan, and possible Western Pennsylvania; watch TV! It'll most likely be covered on some, if not all, of your local news stations. I know the stations here in the Toledo area begin broadcasting live from the park at 5:30 am. National news programs are also present at Media Day, so you may find something on cable news too...

2. Watch CP Place!!! Trip reports will probably start to roll in in the late afternoon, through the evening, and into the next day from those who attended the event. If you want a completely unbiased ;) opinion of TTD, CP Place is the place to be! ha ha!

Hope this helps!

Do you think that it will be broadcast on one of the national news stations like CNN, Fox News Channel, or MSNBC?

I REALLY want to watch media day.

I'm pretty sure that CNN and FOX News mentioned something about Wicket Twister last year on media day (although Fox News' was just a blurb.... I didn't actually see it myself, just word of mouth). CNN showed some footage from the park, etc.

The best way to see some media day footage would be to watch Northern Ohio news... If you can't, there will be trip reports here (like I said) and Jeff will probably post some of his own video of the ride as well as the canned b-roll that the park provides. At least, that's what he did for Wicked Twister.

Is it May yet?

There was national coverage for Millennium Force on its media day, including live spots for the Fox News Channel. That said, by that afternoon there will be plenty of photos and video to be had for anyone with Internet access.

I remember seeing Hypersonic XLC being announced on CNN Headline News when I was on vacation. There is no question that TTD is a much bigger deal than that ride.

I bet it will be on at least one national news station.

I think it really depends on what kind of news day it is. If we kill some bigwig in Iraq on May 1st, you may not see anything about Dragster whatsoever. But if it is a realitively normal news day, you might see a short clip towards the end of the news cast.

I'm in central Ohio and can guarantee at least 1 (WBNS) of our local stations are always at Media Day. I would watch ONN - they have a habit of repeating the same news every 1/2 hour or so and it's a pretty safe bet they will talk about TTD at least 50x that day. If not with life footage from the park, then taped stuff.

TTD was running on CNN's news ticker throught the day when it was announced. I also believe they did a few segments on it throught the day. It's a safe bet that CNN and probably Fox News will both be covering it.
