One of the weirdest things that happened to me was at Geauga Lakes old waterpark that had the real showers and locker rooms with out all the dividers and curtains there are now. I was about 16 or 17 with my brother and I was using my backpack for our stuff. We had our change of clothes in the bag and placed it on a bench just outside the showers. We took off our wet trunks and placed them on the bench as well as our towels. We took our showers and chatted next to each other maybe total time was 5-8 minutes if that. Someone rummaged through the bag and they only took out our underwear. Most likely as a joke. I was wearing boxers that day so I didnt mind going commando for the rest of the day anyway, but my brother was more upset because he never wore boxers and was uncomfortable the rest of the day. We still laugh about that today

Today myself and three friends took a day trip to the point. We left to go get lunch and noticed my friends purse was missing. We all told her she didn't bring it and it couldn't have been stolen because the gps was still in the car...we didn't notice it was missing until we got back in the car. The car was locked and scratches on the windows show they were forced down. Overall, a gps and a purse containing credit cards, SSN number, etc was taken. I felt real disappointed that somebody would do that. The CP police handled it the best they could (there's really nothing at all they could do). I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience?
We stayed at the breakers express this week. A total of 4 hotel patrons cars were broken into - including my own....even while the cops were stationed in the parking lot. Two days later they hit more cars and then decided to slash my tires.
I will never go to cedar point ever again, the hotel manager even laughed when I reported the tires and asked me if I was joking.
Now that pisses me off that they would have to slash your tires, come on. What does that accomplish? Take what you want and leave, no need for that stuff.

^^I agree. You already ruin someone's day by stealing from them and then you slash their tires? Some people baffle me.

That was the quote of the day. LOL
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Maybe since the gps was stolen you can track down the crooks. Probably would have to have a serial number. When I worked at KI there were 2 kids opening every locker then they found something and the other one looked and pointed with a big smile. He didn't get the chance to take it out before I said something and he bolted. Some people have no morals or values and have no place in society.
One time years ago my friend Terry and his wife wanted to ride Thunder Canyon and they noticed a big lineup of shoes along the street between the entrance and the observation deck. (pre locker days?) So they thought it seemed like the thing to do, and left their shoes neatly in the row along with the others. You guessed it, they came off the ride and Terry's shoes were gone, and it seemed his were the only ones taken. So after an hour of searching through trash cans and bushes, he walked barefoot to the Marina Store and bought really expensive Keds so he could finish the day.

It would be very easy to take peoples shoes on Thunder Canyon. What would you want to do (besides wear them) with shoes? As things are looking, over the past 2 years I have heard & witnessed more about theft and line jumping than ever. Maybe the park is more crowded with Geauga Lakers, it is harder for CP to keep crime down. Just a thought! :)

For the cost of that GPS and the missing items, I'd bet that the individual that stole it was an employee.

Last week at the park there was a Jeep Liberty with its drivers door wide open. I dont know whether it was broken into or what but there was a huge dent in the back door of the drivers side. Like I said I dont know if it was broken into or not but I guess the main point is always hide your valuables and lock it because there are idiots out there who will do about anything to get what they want...
I've found 27 dollars in a locker in Soak City once. I found a 20 dollar bill by the bathrooms near Gemini. I found a 5 dollar bill also but I forget where.
You can argue the $27 was maybe someone who stashed it in there to try and not pay the locker fee, but the locker key i had was the locker number the money was in.
Overall I am still down $150 or so cash + the cost of 2 I.D.'s from losing my wallet opening weekend at the point. I think it fell on the Magnum platform and someone picked it up and took it. It's been over a year now, none of the ride ops could find it in two days there.
You can't say its theft when I can't identify an owner. "Will the owner of the 20 dollar bill please report to the...."
When it comes to cash lieing on the ground heres my rules:
1. Did I see it fall from someone's pocket/hand? If so I give the person back their money
2. Do I see someone nearby looking at the ground/searching for something? If so, I ask that person what they are looking for, if they say i dropped $X then I give it back
If the answer to those two questions is no, then I take it no question asked, even if its a $20. However, if I found a roll of cash I would probably involve lost and found.
Hey factory81.
That was my $20....want my address? :)

I worked as the person at the beginning of the line (can't remember the name now) at TTD during Halloweekends 2 years ago and people who refused to get a locker would leave their things right by the front there under the track. Later on, some kids, usually in groups, would come and take everything and I knew that it wasn't theirs at all. I felt awful and gave them a very nasty look but I couldn't stop them.
