Me and my friends spent all together about 20 bucks on that stupid Zippo Lighter game, it started out fun but then it got to the point where we just wanted one for the sake of saying we won one, i think the game is rigged, because there were about 5 other people playing for the same amount of time and didnt win it :) and yes i realize almost all those games are rigged, but this one especially... i only played it twice but my friend played it for about 20 minutes when the rest of us went off to ride Mantis.
Its funny because the guy who gives out change in the arcade comes over to us when he is playing and says "You know buddy, Zippo lighters are only 5 bucks in most stores" heh
The games aren't rigged, per say, because they can all be won - it's just that the odds aren't good. I've seen people win the lighters (rarely, but yes), and the funniest case was when some guy was bragging about having won a lighter but lost it on Raptor an hour later.

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"
I've won over 6 lighters in the last 4 years. I can't begin to tell you how much I've spent which is probably even to the cost of just buying them. It's all in the timing and finding a machine with alot of lighters in it. You have to remember the game is pure chance and it is designed to get instead of give. However, if you think about it and look at things that happen on the playfield you can beat the game. Your not going to win everytime but you can establish a rhythm to improving your odds.
I don't even understand why I play anymore, it's just that it isn't Cedar Point without playing a game of chance.
I won a lighter once and have yet to try it again. It took 5 bucks and half an hour to get it.

That is so true i was there 3 days ago and my gfriend tried a couple of times it is near impossible it seems. My advice-dont spend the money on the games- save it for vertigo
I spent 20 bucks on this game on one trip (rainy day got us started) My friend had played it before and he told me to play it i got hooked away went my money. Next trip I hope I don't see another one of those things......
All you have to do is "Knock IT OFF." My friend dropped in over forty bucks one time and I put in five dollars and won. He wouldn't talk to me for days.
I spent 6 dollars and one 6 lighters in one season.
I never win those things! I will be there Sunday and maybe I will win one or two or 10! yeah right!

"Where da party at?! Girls is on da way, where da BACARDI at?!!"
i agree. that game is really hard, but the worst thing is that its addicting i won a zippo on my first dollar last year on a rainy day. my friends were so jealous that they all wanted me to win them one. so i kept playing and playing and before i knew it my 100 bucks that i brought were gone in two hours. oh well it was raining anyway and there was nothing else to do
My friend got 3 for a dollar or a dollar fifty as he was watchin me the whole time an decided to try it.

Last year, my brother spent about 40 bucks trying to get a Zippo at PKI and CP. He failed miserably! I walked up to the game and within about $3, I walked away with a new lighter. :)
Now where did I put that dern lighter....

I get a couple every year.
There is skill involved, but you also need luck.
I wish they would make more CP ones. I have one for Magnum, Mantis, & DT.

I always passed up those games without looking, because I could never win at the local arcade, but now that I know they have ride related lighters, I'm gonna have to bring some extra money next time. :)
"You know buddy, Zippo lighters are only 5 bucks in most stores"
Well, actually, the used ones can be 5 bucks, but the cheapest a new one goes for is 16, unless it's a knock-off brand.
Ever since I was a kid (about 7 years old), I have collected Zippos. I've got the little rotating display case (which now inhabits the attic untill we get into the new house), and a bunch of other crazy Zippo stuff. The jewl of my collection is probally the one we (My dad and I) picked up at a flea market for 25 bucks. It's a Zippo, but it stands 7in tall and 4in wide. :)
I still chuckle every time I see it.

Funny Story: Went to CP with my school's drama club two summers ago (eggs was there with me), friend of ours spent $25-odd on that game. Came home $25 poorer and no lighter. :)
Those games are a matter or timing and getting into a rhythm...after some practice and patience almost anyone can be a Zippo master!
