Happy 10th Birthday, Top Thrill Dragster!

I don't remember which one (the red train or track), but one of the red colors is considered "sunset red".

While Dragster's paint is fading, Raptor's is literally peeling and flaking away in some places. I was kind of shocked at how bad it looked. They both could use some paint, but I'd say Raptor needs it more urgently.

Raptor really looked great back on 2002 after it was repainted. It will be nice to see that transformation happen again.

TTD is really only 6 years old (in up-time years).

Those first few years were really rough (and every time I still get in line for that matter, it manages to go down).

Maybe they could celebrate the anniversary by lining a bunch of the bigwigs up on the platform and ceremonially peeing on the track. Folks that have been around here for a while will hopefully appreciate the reference.

I noticed part of a support on Raptor near the queue entrance that appeared to have been painted.

I think that's been like that for a few years actually.

If anybody noticed, maXair is repainted. I remember us talking about that a few months ago. It looks nice now!

I'll have to look at these supports next time I ride TTD.

I have only rode it 201 times. I Rolled Back 2 times. 1 time in 2003 & 1 Time in 2005. I was not scared either. We didn't get off the train we launched back up a few minutes after we Rolled Back down both times.

That color belongs to the red train. The rest are sunshine yellow, cobalt blue, florescent purple, indy green, black cherry.

Agreed about Raptor. The paint is flaking away in quite a few places. I, too, saw the painted support near the entrance, and I had hoped that was a sign of an impending paint job...

TTD is also in desperate need of sprucing up, though. When you see the launch track up close (or the brake run for that matter) it just looks nasty. The metal is all rusted, there is a lot of electrical tape looking stuff hanging down in places, the paint is extremely faded, etc. The station roof is also peeling quite a bit.

Given the two rides' prominent locations along the midway, they both could use paint sooner rather than later...

Thrills Around the Corner!

Happy Birthday TTD, seemed only a few years ago I was waiting in line at close and a train came back in without the large tires on the back. They decided to scrap that part, and the wings of the ride shortly after. Still got to ride after they took that train out. Which was a slow process.

Did the tires come off at the top or something?
