Hands up on launch?

Umm... I had my hands up and remarkably my arms were not broken off or hurt.

Same here, Jeff, but that's not to say it's a good idea to do so on a launch ride.

*looks* Got my arms and hands too. Otherwise, I wouldn't be typing this message.

Pagooona, about pulling your calf: if you can, try keeping your feet bent upward during the ride. Sometimes while stretching in bed my calf would suddenly tense up with sharp pain. But I have learned that keeping my feet bent upward (which relaxes the calves) while stretching prevents my calf from pulling. I'm don't know anatomy either, but I know it works for me. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the advice. It happens to me when I am stretching in bed, too. I noticed that it doesn't hurt me on other rides because I am able to extend my legs, where as on Dragster and MF, I have very little leg space.

I hurt my back on sunday When I put my hands up!

I was ticked!

Nothing against cp though I mean the first thing they tell you is keep arms down head back and hold on so it was my falt

Ok, 5 launches... still have both arms... I have 100% of my limbs still. Now trying to reach out and touch that big yellow support on the decent... thats not too smart.

I was successful in keeping my arms up through the whole thing too with no signs of injury!!! *PRO BOB'S EYE TWITCHES, AS HIS HEAD RAPIDLY TILTS TO THE SIDE AND HIS SHOULDER RAISES* Really, no signs! :-)

If you don't feel comfortable doing so - then just keep your arms down.

WOULD YOU "GET TO THE PO!NT" ALREADY?!?!?!

I had my hands up the entire time during my first ride. Then I started thinking about it and it seems kind of silly to do so. On a regular coaster I always have my hands up during any type of hill, while on Dragster the hill doesn't happen until after the launch. For my second ride I kept my hands in my lap during the launch and held them up as we crested the tophat. I liked it more, and it made for a better onride photo, with two poses. I am amazed how the riders keep wasting everyone's time prior to their launch by ignoring the "Arms down" stuff. I think the ops in the station should mention something while they are checking restraints about how it's not gonna launch until all arms are down. Either that or put up a sign stating so in the station. It might help out a bit with capacity as well.

Now how exactly would putting your hands up damage your leg to the point where you can't stand on it?

*Shakes head in disbelief*
