I also have to add that the lighting tweaking, themeing, soundtrack and fellow guests make Halloweekends one of my favorite times to visit the park. Plus you cant beat those late trips in October when you have 4+ hours of night ride time.
The parents that drag their kids through on the wagons (usually with blankets over them) that they pull and bump into everyone are the worst of the worst.
I'm going on Sep. 14th and 15th and my sister is terrified of haunted houses. About the areas that we might want to walk through where there are screamsters scaring people, are they really scary? Is the Fright Zone on the way from MF to Maverick?
^depends on what you definition of scary is pjp. If reduced lighting, lots of fog and people in great makeup/costume jumping out at you or making a loud noise is scary for you then yes. Also be ready, screamsters like to target girls (they react more.) Finally yes the Fright Zone is between MF and Maverick.
^My sister thinks scary is like when someones hiding in something and popping out at you, or following behind you and then you turn around and see them. I dont think she would have a problem if you can see them walking around and so you know where they are. Thanks
^Trust me, you don't see us coming. ;)
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
^he is right, they wear mostly black and as I said, reduced lighting and a lot of fog (not to mention trees to hide behind.)
Sounds like it would be an awful lot of fun for you to take your sister through one of the fright zones.... one of my favorite halloweekends memories is taking my wife, who hates clowns, through CarnEvil. Shortly after entering one of the screamsters picked up on that, and followed us the rest of the way through saying "What's the matter, don't you like clowns?" to a terrified Jen.
Hilarious.

I don't know, but it doesn't sound like Pip is from Kentucky.

I don't mean to be a bother but this is already started so here it goes...
Last year I made it to halloweekends with some friends and it was incredibly busy. Yet the next weekend my mom told her is was pretty much dead.
So my question is... is there a better weekend to go then any others? we're going again this year since we love the park [and halloweekends is such a great time there] but dont want to wait more than an hour and a half for mean streak like last year. [crazy idea. i know. but we were desperate]
thanks!

The weather will do it in October. If a weekend is rainy and cold, it'll be dead. If we get a late warm weekend, it'll be busier than a July Saturday. If its the weekend AFTER a cold and rainy weekend, there is, seemingly, a boost in attendance, especially if it doesn't rain (even though it might be in the 50's).

Also, expect Columbus day weekend to be jammed (there is a reason CP is open later on Sunday that week.)
Because the next day is Columbus day, a Federal Holiday (banks and PO's are closed along with some schools).
That is probably one good example of Cedar Point trying to draw more crowds by extending the hours, rather than the hours being extended because the crowds are there (although I don't have the attendance figures from before the extension).

October is by far my favorite time to go to Cedar Point. It can get a little cold sometimes, but most of the time I'm comfortable in a sweatshirt or hoody. Last year in mid-October, it got down about 50 degrees at night. The only time I was actually really cold, was up on the platform of Raptor. Those winds coming through there were COLD!

I had to read this 3 times; will there be a test afterward ;)

So would Cedar Point be busy the first week of Halloweekends? I dont get if it depends on the day or the weather. Is it normally busy on the first weekend?
Pjp, you really need to read this: http://www.pointbuzz.com/faq3.htm. But that said, it is a combination of weather, the day (Saturday is nearly always going to be the most crowded,) the phase of the moon, how close the aliens from galaxy x are to earth, etc, etc...
But seriously, read that faq and realize that on top of this, this is the very first time Halloweekends is beginning that week so this time we really have no clue. *** Edited 8/24/2007 4:42:03 AM UTC by Touchdown***
Thank you for all the support of the "Tell Tale Heart" for the past 8 years! It has been an incredible journey!
Budget cuts have put it to rest for me but the story continues in a different form at the Palace.
I wish them well!!
