In this, my 18th season of CP, I don't think I've ever seen a crowd, like what was there Sat. the 14th. Absolutely packed. The Amazement Park and then some. Do we truly realize how lucky we have it?
Do you think that if CP was to stay open right up until Halloween, they would attract enough people to warrant them staying open just 2 more weekends than they already are? ..... I'd go!
Yes, I absoultely think the Point could be open until Halloween...I also went to the Point on Sat,October 14...and yes..the park was jam-packed!! Absoloutely amazing, that they could get that many peeps in the park for the last weekend...
mikey..
"if you build the tallest, fastest coaster in the world...they will come!!" :)
I'd have to say the two main factors for them would have to be the weather and the staff. Sat the 14th was packed and it seemed under staffed. I noticed a lot of people that were working there from non-profit groups. Most of the games and food shacks were being run by those folks. I was in line for a pizza and the guy who passed me with his pizza said that it was a 40+ min wait from where I was standing. I went to another food spot and it wasn't that bad but they told me that I should have been there when they ran out of food eariler.
I think the hard part is to plan. If there is good weather people will come. You have to get enough staff to work the park. The problem is when you find out the weather report 3 days before you have to have the staff there. It's hard to tell perm employees that you only work on good weather days....
I don't thing you would find one hard core fan who wouldn't like to ride in anytime. -2 degrees is still good enough for me to ride.

Get with it or die in the process.....
You're right, historically, Sandusky weather in Oct is like playing blackjack in Vegas with a group of other players who are all cheating.
As far as staff, that's the big problem. Remember, 90% of CP's staff are college students. They have to be back at school and most would rather make sure they pass those mid-terms (which just happen to fall in Oct) than make a little extra cash (little being the operative word). Did any of you notice that the blue vests (people raising money for thier organizations) and the 'Ride Pride' people really don't start showing up till Oct?? Reason, less students.
We're lucky that CP had figured out a way to keep the park open as late as they do. Alot of places just give up.

It would be great if CP stayed open through Halloween weekend. I'd GO!
I was in line waiting for that pizza.....that is until they ran out.......
Saturday was the first time I ever spent an entire day in an amusement park and didn't eat once. Not even a cookie. I was able to manage a soda, (no thanks to the machines in the Raptor's line) but that was it. A 12 hour day that consisted of MF once, Raptor once, Mantis once, Magnum once, 2 haunted houses, and Aaron Radatz. Give me just 1 more Saturday........... Make it 2.
I would go During October, but I would have to find a ride first..

Magnum-Just Ride It!!!
I don't think there worried about it getting to cold to run the rides. I assume they just like time to winterize the park.
