Have any of you guys been to Cedar Point one week before Halloweekends and experienced the screamsters in the line for Millennium or walking around the midway? I was there last year one week before and they were all over the place getting ready to scare people. I was wondering if you think they will do this this Friday because it is one week before Halloweekends. I really want them to do it because last year my friends were scared so badly they begged them to not scare us.(Not Joking) I wasn't complaining because I love being scared. So please tell me what you think and I would love to hear your comments!

Unfortunately it is not going to happen again this year. But the good news is there's one less week to wait for Halloweekends to start. :)
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

Was it successful? You may have enjoyed it, but some of the others hated it, especially when you've got a kid who is waiting in line. He may be working up the courage to finally ride something bigger and then a screamster (who is NOT expected to be there, its not halloweeekends) jumps out and scares the crap out him.
Yeah, that sounds successful.

The screamsters need practice and what better way then to do it one week before Halloweekends. All you have to do is walk past them. If you don't act scared they won't scare you. That's my theory so if I am wrong then I deserve to get yelled at. But I want it to come back this year.
It's not that we needed practice, all 4 of us who did it last year were seasoned veterans. It was just a fun experiment that the park tried last year and decided not to bring back this year. It may not have gone over really well in the lines (although outside of one guy in an ACE jacket, nobody confronted me directly about us being there) I thought it was pretty successful having us by the front gates at the end of the day. Lots of people stopped to talk and to take pictures, and the kids actually loved us, which surprised me.

See I thought you did that for the newbies not the veterans. Sorry about that! I loved it and I talked to the lion guy who was in Fear Faire. We stopped him on the midway and starting talking. It was the most fun I had because I actually got to talk to a screamster without being interruppted. Too bad I won't be able to do that this year. Oh well! See u all at Halloweekends!
on friday nights during halloweekends what food/beverage places are usually open? curious since ride availability is limited.
.. and Ralph.. I wouldn't say that all the screamsters don't need to practice..
Some have been for a few months now...

I don't think having the screamsters out scaring next weekend is a good idea....but having them wander, in make-up doing some glad-handing wouldn't be bad. Put them at the front entrance handing out coupons/flyers and wandering the midways (but not hiding/scaring) just to get people interested.

Sit 'em at a table at the front gate and have them sign people up for credit cards and time shares too. Then it will feel more like Six Flags. :)
Hey, keep me out of the credit card discussion.
I just think the screamsters could be used as a good marketing tool for Halloweekends by being available for people to see and get their picture taken with before the scaring starts. Even during halloweekends, how awesome would it be to have the screamsters at the park entrances so that you can have your sneak peeks photo taken with them?
It would only take a handful to cover all the sneak peeks photographers, figure 8-10 screamsters at the front and another 4 at Magnum.
I know this would get me to buy an SP photo.

The sneak peek photographers have wandered into our zones before, and I really hope that doesn't happen again. I think having characters available for sneak peak pictures at the gates would be a really good idea. Although my vote would be to get some ride prides or merchandise people to dress up for taking pictures. They've tried before to get screamsters to do picture type things (such as the pics in the graveyard by Old Time Photo) and it hasn't gone over too well. No screamster wants to sit around doing pictures when they could be scaring. They solved the problem at Old Time Photo by getting a girl from the merchandise department to get dressed up.

You can usually find a few Screamsters at the Fear Faire east entrance (by Sneak Peeks) available for pictures. If you stand there for a few minutes you can catch one for a photo. Most of the time the Sneak Peek people will print your picture off right away too since it was taken in front of the shop. You don't have to go back an hour later (or however long the time is) to get your picture once they have returned. There is no waiting, much faster.
And on a side note: The Sneak Peek pictures have a Halloweekends bored featuring Screamsters during Sept and Oct. Its a lot better then the one they use during the summer. Incase that makes you want to get one Jugga;)
^^ - and that would work fine. But even if its "screamsters" or even if they have real ones just for an hour or so at park opening and then again for like an hour before the areas open up....that would be great too.

99er... haven't we had enough problems with Screamsters and getting their pictures taken?? ;)
I hated the sneak peeks people in the Fright Zone last year. Monsters all around.. getting ready to scare someone when all of a sudden one of them pops up .. "Hey.. how about a picture?!?!?" .. ruining the scare...
