Halloweekends and families

My family is planning to go to Cedar Point this year for one of the Halloweekends. We have our annual Camper Village reservations, but this year we will be going to the Point in October instead of our usual August visit.

Anyway, we will have five kids between the families that are going on the trip. The oldest is 7, then we have kids five, four, two, and one year old. I was just wondering if the Halloweekends props, etc... would tend to scare the kids. Obviously, we know that we won't be taking them into the haunted houses, but how is the general atmosphere walking through the park.

Being Cedar Point, I'm sure that this is a family designed event, but I've never been there at this time of the year and wanted to make sure.

Thanks for your responses.

natas..all I can say is this..Its a judgement call..Cp has many friendly ghouls walking around and on the flip side they have many ghastly scenes as well...Please check out the link below to get an idea of what to expect..there are some pics to view..I personally won't be taking my daughter til she can handle the props I put in my own yard and enjoy my twisted nature..

Halloweekends for the most part is a great family atmosphere but please just look farther ahead than your kids and make your own call!! Hope to see you there...I'll be there 2 of the 4 weekends

The park has several Cemetery and Zombie seens. It also has an Area 51 theme on the two of the midways. Most of that isn't that scary. I think the children are more fascinated by the props than anything else. The park also has a Pumpkin Painting contest, friendly monsters, a magic show, scary camp fire tales, and the Antique cars is transformed into a trick or treat ride.

Dispatch Master, This is Transport one! I'm losing control, I'm losing control!
I don't believe we'll be doing the Antique Cars trick-or-treat this year. Trick-or-treating is going to be at the Peanuts Playground (old Berenstein Bear Country). There will also be a Halloween costume contest for younger kids every Saturday and Sunday at 3pm at Camp Spooky (Snoopy).
