HalloWeekends

What exactly goes on during HalloWeekends?
Oh no it's way to early to be taking about this. We are still wating for the park to open
It's never too early to talk about my favorite holiday at my favorite park!!!

Halloweekends is when CP gets into the Halloween spirit by dressing up the park with all sorts of hauntings. There are a few haunted house-type walk-throughs that are pretty cool! One is in the queue area of DT another is in the frontier carousel, and there is yet another one, that I cannot remember where it is.

They decorate certain sections of the park with Halloween Themeing. They turn a few buildings into Haunted Houses. I was only in one haunted house and it was kinda of cool. I like it because it gives certain sections of the park a different look. What I didn't like was that I was there the day before the last day the park was open for the season and it was crowded! So they are definitely drawing the people with Halloweekends. I'm sure I missed a few other things.
The other one goes through where some of the pavilions are, in the front of the park, on your left when you come in. I don't really know the name for that area but I'm pretty sure that's where it is. It's where it was in '98 anyway.

That really sounds cool! I'll most definitely have to plan another trip to CP during HalloWeekends. The only reason I asked about it so early is that I have to plan vacation times and I already have 2 trips to CP planned during the season (One late May without the kids another later in the summer with the kids) and was wondering if I should make another trip during the fall. I love Halloween so I'll be there for HalloWeekends!

The haunted House near the front in the pavilion is the Toxic Tunnel of Terror! Just so you know!!
Also Usually the park isn't that crowded on Halloweekends, but last year it was most of the days!

Have been to the past 2 Halloweekends and have had a BLAST both trips! Beware however:
On the Friday nights of those weekends the entire park is NOT open-
no Magnum
no Gemini
no MS
dont know about MF yet
It has been attracting more people it appears to me-the best nights however are the Friday and Sunday nights!
It usually RAINS so bring a poncho and dress warm!
This year will be the first year I wont beable to attend as a "guest"
instead I will be a ride op
woo hoo!

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
Although I don't know, I would guess that MF will be open during Halloweekend Fridays. I think this because of its location in the park. There would be no good reason to keep is closed since it is located next to many other attractions that are open. Besides, don't they do some special stuff with Frontier Trail during the weekends?
The only coaster's open during the Friday HalloWeekend sessions last year were the Raptor, Iron Dragon, Wildcat, Mantis, and The Mine Ride. Power Tower, Demon Drop, as well as some other milder rides were open as well.

When I was there last year, all of the coasters, except the Wildcat were walk-on's. That is unless you had a front seat preference for the Raptor or the Mantis. Power Tower was nearly a walk-on until they shut down one Space Shot and one Turbo Drop because of lack of attendance. The Raptor and Mantis were running with only two trains each. It's so enjoyable to hit the Mantis brake run at the end of the ride without coming to a complete and sudden halt as you do when they are running all three trains. *** This post was edited by Raptor0137 on 4/15/2000. ***
I actually cross my fingers and hope for that sudden stop when I'm riding!! I love hard stops on the Mantis and Wildcat!
i went on a sat. this year w/ everything open. it was really fun, the haunted houses were awesome, and there was some long waits. magnum, mantis, raptor and power tower all had hour waits but everything else exept for 30 min on wildcat were walk ons. i rode magnum twice(first train of day), raptor three times(last train of night), mantis once, and i didnt go on power tower. i rode mean streak 14 times throughout the day.
