The official Cedar Point Haunt website has added some new information regarding what's new for this years festivities (starting on Friday the 13th).
Previously confirmed, the new Midnight Syndicate show will be "Creatures of Darkness."
The rock-n-roll inspired show at the Red Garter Saloon this year will be "Happily Never After."
And it seems that "Cornstalkers" has been upgraded to "Cornstakers 2.0" for this year interestingly enough. I don't know how factual this is, because the website still lists Trail of the Forsaken and Hexed Lights Out as "New for this Year," where those two were new last year in 2018.
Granted it is still early July, and I expect more information to be shared later in the summer.
Is there a "ranking" of HallowWeekends attractions? Have made a yearly trip with my lovely other half for the past 9 years; but have never thought it was worth going in October because of the limited park hours, and we live about 5 hours away. This is the first year we have gotten a platinum pass and are planning on taking advantage of our passes. What do I NEED to do??
If you can make it work with the long drive out, Friday nights are where it's at. Shorter lines, smaller crowds. Saturdays are bonkers. We have a long drive out ourselves, so we usually make a weekend of it, do the bulk of our riding and haunts on Friday, and then take a more leisurely pace on Saturday checking out the shows and whatnot.
Yes, Haunt Saturdays are super-duper crowded. Like the biggest crowds of the year.
I used to go on Fridays and then do non-CP stuff on Saturday. Sunday was a good day in the park as well, usually...
In the recent past, Saturday insanity has left the Sunday park feeling like the day after in a hotel room shared by 20 college kids and 10 cases of beer..
Your mileage may vary.
But, IMHO, you should visit. It is such a different feeling during Haunt.

A couple more pages have been updated on the HalloWeekends site. This description suggests that Skeleton Crew might not be returning and that Celebration Plaza is becoming something called the "Battleground HalloZone".
I wonder if that is something like the Port of Call at Dorney Park or Fiesta de los Muertos at Knott's where you have sort of a "party" fright zone with drinks and food available.

Nope, it's just you. The number of props & such that need placement is astounding. Plus, a few neat props here and there help build peoples curiosity and may result in future paid visits. They slowly move things into place, among other items I have noticed the Cadillac hearse near Millenium Force as well as the building in the Iron Dragon pond that has the two headed guy that hasn't arrived yet, he has trouble putting on his overalls.
As for Cornstalkers that AndyG mentioned, it is indeed an attraction this Halloweekends. It has been refashioned and will be called Cornstalkers 2.0.
Just saw an article that stated that the Ohio Farm industry has been declared a Natural Disaster this season. Brutal conditions for many.
Having done Halloweekend set up, there is a TON of preparation that goes into it. However, I’m the type of person that can’t stand when people rush through Summer to get to Fall. It’s just me being selfish because when I think of Cedar Point, I think of warm weather, drinks on the beach, shorts and t-shirt, etc. Not spooky props and cold weather. It’s most definitely not my favorite time of the season.
I know a few other Cedar Fair parks have quietly added November weekends to their operating calendars. Although I can assume Cedar Point won't join that club, I do feel like the first weekend or two in November generally has a better potential of more favorable weather than the other bookend of the offseason in April.
I'm surprised they are not utilizing Forbidden Frontier as a walk-through.
I could go on, but I'm not sure what to add beyond that. One of the first thoughts that popped into my head when we visited the first time was..."ooohhh...just wait and see what they do with this place for Halloween. It's perfect!"

Haunted village, anyone?
Maybe next year...
