Halloweekends 2003 Reviews

I do have to say the one thing I really don't care for and I think is rather stupid are all of the cars with creatures from the movies in them. They're between Iron Dragon and Wildcat. I think that's just very random and very cheesy.

It's a Drive-In... get it? I didn't think so. That area would be so much better if they showed old horror movies on the giant screen, like Dracula or Frankenstein or the Mummy. Cut the spooky music and play the sound while showing them over and over.

Cut the spooky sound? As if we could all hear it all over the park anyways....

Werewolf Canyon: it's a lot like shopping for a christmas tree. Only, with werewolves.

Thanks tambo, I didn't get it! :) Me and my friends were just like "what is this?!" It would be better if they were playing old horror movies, that object projected on the screen is dumb, maybe you can tell me what that's supposed to be! ;) Thanks! :)

Finally a shoeless Raptor rider! :)

I also missed the whole drive-in concept. I walked from the back of the park to the front, and there were no lights on the cars. So, like stardoors, I'm just thinking "Wow...a bunch of cars with creatures....right on par with the blow-up ghosts on the bus." So, now that it's a drive-in....neat idea to take advantage of the screen, but poor execution.

The Halloweekend theming used to feel eerie and impressed me. This year, some of it's okay, but other things appear cheap. Like the giant blow-up pumpkin....it's cute I guess, but takes away from the eerie atmosphere.

Maybe parents complained Halloweekends weren't kid-friendly, so CP segregated the park into adult area (Frontier Trail and beyond), and kiddy-area. (Area before Frontier Trail).

What happened to the haunted train, the fun-to-watch, candy station Antique Cars, the dancing characters roaming the front of the park, and so on. These things made the environment much more fun.

My favorite part about halloweekends is Cabin #3.

Eddy the retard is awesome.

Uh, try 13. Not 2.

Hence: the main reason why the cabin is sitting there. Hence: a Halloweekends display.

Hey, just a quick question. I know they still do the freeway-passes during halloweekends, but since the park doesn't open till noon on saturdays, do they start giving out stamps at 1:00 or right when the park opens? I'm heading there tomorrow, so any help would be appreciated.

"Let's Ride!" ~ Nicholas Cage from Gone in 60 Seconds
I was there yesterday, 10/11 and it seemed like the park was more crowded than on a Sat in august! There were masses of people everywhere. The lines for all the major coasters were over an hour. MF was using its overflow queues. There were 15min waits to get a hamburger! The decorations were awesome and the Fright Zone had a lot of fog but there were so many people that it was hard to get from one place to another. I didn't even get a chance to go to Werewolf Canyon. There was a 1/2 hour wait for Werewolf Canyon 30min before it even opened! I have never seen that many people at the Point before. I was happy that Dragster ran consitiently and the actual wait was less then the estimated time. Also, is it me or is Disaster Transport a bit more exciting then usual. When I rode it, the majority of the ride was in total darkness which was really fun. It just seemed different from my previous rides.

Race For The Sky!

Westside 7th,

I don't think it matters whether the month is August or October; if it's sunny & 72 degrees on a Saturday, the crowds will come.

And I agree that Disaster Transport seems more exciting lately. The dark parts seem darker, & the lighting for the exploding "Reactor" seems more intense.

It doesn't hurt that it was a long weekend and the weather last weekend was bad.
