Halloweekend thursdays?

Given the crazy crowds that are filling up Halloweekend Saturdays, what are the odds that they will open up Thursday evenings in the near future?

The reason I think Saturdays are getting so ridiculous is because with only 3 days available (Friday, Sat, Sunday), everyone that is traveling in for 2 day stays have to hit Saturday and that experience is likely to turn them off from coming back (I know I'll never do Saturday again).

If the option for Thurs. and Friday was there I would definitely take it.

Do you think the attendance for Halloweekends warrants a Thursday evening opening yet?

I think it is very unlikely.

Cedar Point relies heavily on college students for staffing. That's one of the reason only a portion of the rides, food stands and games are open on Fridays.

They'd have an even harder time getting workers for Thursdays.

I doubt they would do it. Staffing would be a problem. Most people have school or work the next day so staying until midnight wouldn't really be the attraction it is on Friday and Saturday. Sure people work during the summer portion of the season, but the likely take the day off and attend CP for the entire day. Even if they stay until 10pm it's not that late depending on the drive home.Arriving Thursday at 6pm wouldn't draw many people IMO.

Also, they will also likely extend Friday to a full day (open at 10 or noon) before they go adding Thursday to the mix.

And I don't see that happening any time soon for the same reasons I don't see them adding Thursdays.

Didn't Kings Island try out opening on Thursday evenings last season or maybe the one before? I seem to remember bad weather canceling a few of those days as well. Since they didn't opt for Thursdays again this year it seems they didn't feel it was worth doing.

Well if they did, they'd havve to change the name to Halloweek. Doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?

I can see them adding more time to Sundays (maybe another 10-10) before they open earlier on Fridays or Thursdays at all.

Yes, Kings Island tried Thursdays last year. Many of those days were cancelled due to freakish storms.

They wouldn't have the staffing issue CP does because they are so close to Cinci. People in Cinci could travel there on Thursdays and be back to school or work the next day.

Let's Get Weird.

I can see them maybe being open longer on friday and saturday's, maybe untill 2am, and opening at 10am on Sat. before they add another day or open earlier on friday's. I would agree that satffing is the major concern for opening on thursday.

College Students' weekends usually start on Thursday... ;)

I don't like the idea, it would force their hand into hiring under 18, which IMO is what makes the Screamsters as good on the whole as they are.

Thursday nights.

And I don't know too many who would give that up to spend 6 hours checking lap bars.

Then CP would be just like the mansfield reformatory if it were open on thursdays!

If I stay until closing on a Friday, I don't get home until sometime between 1 and 2 AM, and I would think the same would hold true for anyone who lives in a nearby metro area. That sort of timeframe is fine for me on a Friday, but would be awful if you had to be at work the following day.

Additionally, it's so much easier to sneak out of work early on a Friday than a Thursday, and for someone like me, that means you don't realistically set foot in the park until 7.

That would give you 3-4 hours in the park, which even with walk-on lines, just wouldn't justify the trip, in my opinion.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.
