Wondering if anyone has purchased the package in the past? Good experience? Got a group that wants to go up for it, thinking a cabin and a couple of days in the park would be RAD. Any thoughts would be killer! First post Holla to ya'll point freaks!
I am pretty sure I do recall some packages in the past. I have never purchased a package, but I do recall packages in general being a good deal. BTW, welcome to Pointbuzz.
I bought one last year. Two of us had Platinum Passes and the other two used the tickets the package came with. I believe they each had to buy another ticket but it worked out to be a good deal. I will be in a cabin this Closing Weekend for the fourth year in a row. It is always one of the most fun weekends of the year for my friends and I.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I've done it twice in the past, in my opinion it's a great deal. Previous visits they only gave you 4 Fri night and 2 Sat tix. Now they give you tix to Fri and Sat for each party member. And we're doing the package this year at Light House Point.
We buy a package deal for Halloweekends when we come out every October, and in my mind it's the best way to visit the part. Our package we booked this year is room with 2 queen beds in Breakers and that includes our 4 tickets for friday night and saturday and parking, and I think it was around $460. When you figure that gate price for the friday tickets would be around $120 ($30 ea)and tickets for Saturday would be $184 ($46 ea) , plus $10 for parking each day, you get to stay at Breakers for a little under $70 a night - plus you can get an even better deal if you stay at Breakers Express instead (though being able to go back to the room mid-day on Saturday and not having to drive in and out is well worth it in my opinion).
If you're planning to go for the weekend, you can't beat it.
Or, you can buy a season pass, and stay at the motel six down the road for $55 a night.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
^ And do they leave the light on for you? :)
If I go up for a weekend before mid Oct. I don't have to pay anything for a room and can use "summer" accommodations in Sandusky of some of my family members.
I haven't stayed in a hotel room in Sandusky in quite awhile but the rates I'm finding online for the motel 6 down the road right now are actually at about $70 a night (not $55). So actually the Halloweekends package deal sounds pretty decent (especially if you're staying at the Breakers) if you need a room for the weekend.
There are a few places in Sandusky you can get for about $55 a night but I know how long they've been around (some have been around longer than I have been around) and if the outside conditions that I saw last weekend are any indication, along with the Sandusky "school of business" model I've experienced in many businesses throughout the city over the years, I would not dare want to find out what the inside is like.
Your right.
It's not $55, it's $49 per night as seen here...
I just picked a random weekend for october.

I live about 3 hours away from CP usually go to the park twice per year - once as a chaperone with a trip to for my school at the end of May (free ticket), and once for a weekend in October, so a season pass wouldn't really make sense for us.
For me the ability to go back to the room in the middle of the day to take a dip in the pool or relax, and not have to fight parking lot traffic is well worth the added expense of Breakers.
That's cool.
But is that worth $200.00 more? The motel 6 has a pool as well, and is 15 min away from the park.Usually durring the day, there is not much traffic in the parking lot. The bad traffic isin the morning, and late afternoon.
Even if you only went twice a year, you could buy discounted tickets thrue AAA, or right on cedar points website. The tickets on cedar points website are $45 for a full day, and $29 for a starlite ticket. AAA is a little cheaper than that price. I believe meijers sells discount tickets as well. They also offer the 2 day ticket for $75.00(on cedarpoint's website). If you have children, the prices are about half the adult price.
I would have said that if you bought a season pass for next year, you would have the rest of this year free, but this is not six flags.;)
