GTTP Shirts Returning?

I was just looking at the store section of the site, and it says the shirts are no longer avaliable. I was really looking forward to purchasing one for next summer. Will they be coming back at all soon, and if so how much are they? :)

I'm not sure yet. It really depends on cash flow this time, since advertising isn't what it used to be. Generally speaking they're worthless as a fund raiser because there's a lot of work involved in sending them, and there's no return until you sell a certain percentage of them.

That said, we'll see in a few months. It's easy to ask in the forums "would you buy one?" only to about 25% of said people actually buy one.

two words: Pre Pay.  I know that sounds crappy, but I know from past experiences this is how you at least break even when doing t-shirts like this.  We used to have the same problem in my fraternity in college, until we started having people pre-pay.  We would come up with a design, get prices on making the shirts, come up with a price, then let people order them.  We would order a few extras knowing people would want them after the fact, but mostly if you didn't pre-order, you didn't get one.
Anyways, just a thought.

You should check out http://www.cafepress.com/. They allow you to upload your artwork for a variety of products, and you don't have to pre-pay. You get paid everytime some one buys one of your items, and the site handles all the rest of it!

Worked good for me awhile back!

Nah, that's a serious rip-off. If I don't make at least $6 per shirt, I don't think I'm getting what I'm entitled to. Seeing as how I've already paid for an SSL certificate, a merchant account, payment gateway and such, I'd rather pay the relatively small bank fees.

The only real objection is stuffing envelopes. After about a hundred shirts (see: CoasterBuzz) it kind of gets old. :)

Think child labor Jeff...isn't there a way to get your volleyball team involved? ;o)

"Whose bright idea was it to get him talking about Cedar Point?!"

I think Jeff could use a little seasonal staff.  :) J/K that would add more to the expense of the shirts, of course.

Of course! My volleyball team! It's a "team building" and "bonding" exercise for them. Brilliant!

LOL! Even if the shirts don't make a return, I may just buy a plain white T-shirt and write in black magic marker---"I'm Midway Man from www.guidetothepoint.com"!

 LOL!  ;)

I really was debating whether to write my GTTP name on my shirt at CP this season.  We really should make up some informal way of dressing when we're there.  Such as putting two long strips of duck tape on your back and writting, "GTTPer Force312".  :-)

By the way, I remeber seeing a group of people this past season with these red and white shirts for a family reunion.  I forget how, but they had changed one of CP's slogans into something which related to their family.

force312, that's an awesome idea! I am gunna do that!

Sounds like a good idea to me too! Just stick some duct tape on your shirt or jacket with your GTTP username, and your set!  People will prob. think we're nuts, but oh well! :)

It'll work if we all do it the same way, that way we can tell if it's really a GTTP person.  I think it would be neat for a ride-op in here to say hi if they see your name.

Then there's the ones here (and we all know who we are! ;)) who do not need GTTP shirts to be reconized as a GTTPer! (Or as I fondly call a CP'er! ;)) Of course that "honor" comes with being here for a while too! :)
I myself had a GTTP shirt last year but used it as a barn shirt, nice clothes and horses do NOT go together so the shirt never made it past last Fall. Oops!

The only thing is that if we all wrote our names on duct tape and put them on our backs, we might start some odd Cedar Point fashion craze... If everybody started putting MillenniumRider on their backs it would get kinda confusing too....

Gotta love duct tape, it does everything! (almost)

How about t-shirt transfer?  I was going to put my names from the different sites I'm on into a design on the PC, and print it onto t-shirt transfer paper...then iron it onto a tshirt

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

A Disney group with which I'm familiar wears lime green ribbons when they're at the parks, identifying themselves to each other as members at that website.

We could do this at CP.  Use an orange and yellow ribbon (mimicking the still godawful ugly colors on this site) and any GTTP'ers would recognize you as one of them.

Hey, these colors are cool! Talon was painted the same colors. Coincidence? I don't think so.

OK Jeff-yes Talon is the same colors as your site I admit and it looks GOOD on here and on Talon....but on Gemini too? BLECH! ;)
(Despite rumors CP denies Dorney just sent them "left over Talon" paint to do with what they pleased--yes, I asked!! :))

Back to the shirts-a group of us end up hanging out together anyway and from there it is easy to meet newbies and get yourself "id'd" as a GTTPer.
Or just get yourself a bunch of CP tattoos they seem to help me get recognized ;)
