GTTP DDR tournament proposal

All the skee ball challenges got me thinking...and I sorta came up with a little idea.

Okay, so first of all, I want to know who here plays DDR (Dance Dance Revolution of course) on any semi-regular basis.  If you do, post in this thread please, and post your location (City, State).

You might be able to guess by my topic where this is going.  I want to play DDR with a lot of you, but I want there to be a bit of a competitive bent to it (ahh, competition).  I've competed in one DDR tournament, and have a good idea of how to run one (informal and unofficial of course, and no freestyle, just a tech tournament, just a bit of a fun thing).  No arcade in its right mind would dislike the idea...it brings in a lot of money for a DDR machine.  So, if you post in this thread, here is a list of things I want to see from you:

1.)  Location (to determine where it should be held)
2.)  Skill level (Basic (NOTE:  ONLY FOR REAL BEGINNERS IN THIS TOURNAMENT), Trick, SSR)
3.)  Would you be interested in playing?
4.)  Would you prefer an entrance fee and prizes, or just for bragging rights?
5.)   Favorite Mix

As well as any ideas you may have for this tournament.  I'm leaving this thread very open-ended, I just wanted to lay the proposition out on the table.  Jeff, if you have any comments please make them too!

The thought of a bunch of white coaster nerds playing that game doesn't paint a pretty picture.

Hey Nat the problem with a DDR Tournament is the same problem with a skee ball tourney.  You would kill all of us seeing how you play it every free second you have.  The same with a skee ball tourney I could kill everyone, so we have to find something that gives everyone an even chance......hmmm let me think Fascination anyone?

Dan, while you make a point, I don't think that's necessarily true.  I know that a few coaster enthusiasts are DDR fans as well, and I hear Majin Heero could probably smoke me at DDR!  I'm thinking there gotta be some other people here who are interested, using the logic that I KNOW at least one other person who's good.  Well, at least two, actually.  It's just an idea, anyway.

Edit:  Jeff, I'm a white computer/videogame/coaster nerd and I don't consider myself too bad at the game, so THERE! hehe

I'd be up for it! Just as a thing for fun though, I'm getting better but I'm sure there's others here who could still kick my butt. Shocked to not see anyone else interested!

As long as there would be a super-beginner, entry-level, i've-got-no-rhythm, level for me, I'm in. Plus I'm poor, so just bragging rights. (imagining... "Hey guys, I just won the 'I've got no rhythm' DDR contest out of a bunch of coaster nerds!!" friends reaction: "Would you like a cookie?")

That gives me an idea. How about you guys spice up the competition...like on Drew Carey with Beer Ball!

For those that are of legal age...make it so you have to down a cup of alcohol (preferably something that will take effect quickly) between rounds as you progress through the tournament. :)

Ya Jeff I've been a member at ddrfreak for awhile now.  That's where I was gonna look for a location!  I actually want some DDR video of me on the 'net, though, so if anyone wants to film me at Blasters in Brighton, MI tomorrow you are welcome to!!  hehe
