Great Photos, Sorry to All

Last night I started a title (400 feet NO WAY) and I just wanted to say sorry for my skeptical assertions. I just felt from the current Web Cams and other photos it was not going to reach 400 feet. Now thanks to the Virtual Midway photos dated today, I'm more assured that this ride will break 400.

Once again Sorry !!!!!

Don't forget that the Millenium Force is in front of the tower. So really the tower is about 20 ft higher than MF.It causes a distance illusion.

I think it looks 20 feet taller than MF despite the distance illusion. If you take that into consideration I'd say it is at least 50' higher.

Great pics.

I can't wait to see a train shooting up the track.

im pretty sure since we are looking at it compared to something in front of it i would say that it is about 50 or 75 feet taller than the tower at that time
After ACE's Christmas Party today most of the attendees took a trip over to Battery Park in Sandusky to get an awesome view of #16. From there you could tell that it was taller than MF even with it being further away than MF is. I can't wait for opening day...May 4th!
If you look at the first photo on the Virtual Midway website, you can clearly see the Magnum lift hill and the 3rd hill of MF. Since both of these hills are around 200, feet (Magnum 205 and MF 182) this may give a better perspective of how the distance between the objects has an affect when looking at photos. The Magnum hill appears to be only half way up #16 structure. Any other thoughts on this idea?
Coaster freak, you bring up a very good point! The 3rd hill on MF is a little under 1/2 the way up the tower, and and a little bit infront of "16". So maybe 370-380?

Wow...
When we got to battery park, the minute that thing came into view.....HOLY $#!@. That thing is big. It's amazing to see another rollercoaster dare to out-tower our beloved Millennium Force.
My guess is that this rides structure is just under the 350 foot mark.

I want to hear the dude from virtual midway's guess.

He's obviously seen it first hand, and I know for a fact that this ride's pictures of the first 50 feet back in September didn't even come close to showing how impressive this ride is! So yaa!

Ok, I have changed my mind.... That is rather large.

The seats better not be like WT. I have to ride it.

The seats will be more like MF's and Xcelerator's.

It's pretty cool if you watch all of the old videos from virtual midway. It's weird to see the beginning of the tower (first level), and now this.

I agree with that raptor323, I found some pictures I took in Sepember a few days ago, and things look drastically different.

I was going to go out there today to see the tower and so my friend could buy his season pass at the Radison Harbor Inn, but had to postpone until next weekend. Those Virtual Midway pics are very good, and can tide me over until I see it in person next week.

Hey, did anyone notice this in this picture, if you side-scroll to the right to where the supposed brake run is? If you look at the bottom of where it pulls out of the drop, it looks as if there is track on the far side of this pull out. Possibly another track that runs along side the brake run? What do ya think?

Walt, what kind of camcorder did you use to film the "Perfect Day" video?

Hey Mach, that's the same track just the picture is a bunch of pictures put together. The track just didn't line up.

I took a trip out to the park Friday 12/6 and drove around on the Causeway. Outside the parking lot on Chausee Rd. the tower is well above the height of Power Tower. Remember the tower is a good 3-400 feet back from PT looking inward into the park from the road. Anyone who understands perspective knows the further away things are the smaller they look, and the tower still looms higher from this vantage point than PT dispite being behind it. I don't think that it is 400 feet but closer between 350-375. It just doesn't quite look like 400+ feet to me. Anyway, it has definitly taken Space Spirals place as the tallest structure on the peninsula.
