Great Lakes Cruises and CP.

American Classic Voyages, owners of the Delta Queen and the only cruise line able to offer cruises operating exclusively within the US, is going to launch an itinerary of over 33 trips on the great lakes.  They are constructing the first purpose built, great lakes cruise ships in untold decades.  These ships harkens back to the classic era of lake cruising and will offer trips from May through October.  These are worth looking at.  I’m wondering if CP has considered working to get themselves tied into the re-emerging great lakes cruise industry as a stop.  It would be a simple matter to build a new dock at the tip of the point, or alter their existing marina such that they could accommodate these modest ships.  It might only add a few hundred people a week, but over time, that could grow as the industry certainly will.
Note the link below to see what these new ships will look like.

Wow! After reading "Cedar Point: Queen of American Watering Places", I hope that Cedar Point is a destination. Having a big ship dock at Cedar Point hasn't happening in years. It would definitely be exciting if it became a reality.
