Saturday night my wife and I entered Toot Sweets hoping for a better experience with funnel cakes than what we had the whole summer. No matter what kind you ordered, they'd hand you a plain funnel cake and you'd have to tell them what ingredients you ordered on them. This happened all summer, so it wasn't just miscommunication. Saturday night we walked out of there with two hot, thick funnel cakes and two large swirls of 'soft serve" on top. I did see the crew mgr. in the outdoor dining area and thanked him for the great improvement. It's little things like that that make your Halloweekends special.

I love the CP funnel cakes, to many places have the pre-made Funnel Cake Factory stuff. I'm glad CP still makes their's fresh, it's a much tastier treat when made that way!
CP does add some nice things in the fall, like corn-on-the-cob and the kettle corn.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
My son and I had a great Elephant ear on Saturday! It was light and sweet!
Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs
Pete, they also have hot apple cider and I think they are called cannolis! Yummy! Halloweekends is so much better than the regular season.
Let's Get Weird.
Cannolis are an Italian pastry shell filled with a pasty creme. I think what they sell at CP is called a Churro. It's more like a twisted breadstick with cinnamon as I recall. I haven't one yet this year. They are good though. I think Mr. Hero in the Cleveland area sell them too.
I learned today that Churros are spanish food. I think they are pretty much the same thing though.
Let's Get Weird.
Just to clarify. They really aren't that similar, a cannoli is a crispy rolled shell with a creamy filling and a churro is more of a fried dough with cinnamon sprinkled on it.

I'm not sure the name of the shop, but one of the shops on frontier trail makes the most amazing elephant ears. They are huge too. My friend and I split one, and it was still too much.
ps. Toot Sweets is a silly name for a store. It is a Cedar Point staple for me. My sister and I giggle whenever we walk past it. :)

Nope, I don't think I've ever seen it. Is that where they got "Toot Sweets" from?
"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"
"Toot Sweet" is a play on words. In French, tout suite is a term which means 'immediately'.
In Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the inventor played by Dick Van Dyke created a candy that was also a hand whistle. Unfortunately for him, it also attracted every dog in the surrounding neighborhood, with disastrous results.

Or it could also be a candy shop (sweets) that was located right next to the train tracks (toot). At least prior to MF getting in the way.

In the movie, when Van Dyke's car sprouted wings and propellers and began to fly, I, as a young boy, coughed up my popcorn and said "that's soooo cool!" Got the Matchbox version (or something like that) when it came out. Ahh, the days of fun movies.
John, I forgot all about that. Yeah, that's right. The shop was pretty close to the train station.
