Holy DT line.
Same for MaxAir.
The images from the front of the park were certainly taken on a busier day, or later in the same day, as the back of the park near Maverick/Gemini/etc where there hardly and lines or people at all.
Yep, different day I think. Towards the back of the park there are no shadows (cloudy) and in the front of the park it's either early or late (long shadows) and sunny.
One factor is that it's likely lots of different agencies/organizations had/wanted to go through everything very carefully before posting it to make sure that everything needing to be blurred was in fact blurred.

I think Google does face detection to blur the images automatically.
One thing I've always wished Google would allow is the ability to go back in time and choose a different year. With several updates of Google maps over time, it would be nice to go back a few years and see the park as it once was. Anyone know if this is a possibility?

It's nice to see you were caught not working for all the world to see.
11 years.
What are you talking about? I was making sure the park was running efficiently that morning. If you want to talk about not working, try and find the "Marketing Couple" that just happen to be around the entire park. :)

That would be awesome. I would love to see my street 15 years ago when it was farm land.

Even if it is a possibility, this is the first time they shot the park. So, this would be the farthest you'd be able to go back.

I think he's talking more about the satellite views, not so much the street views cause that's new.

Google Earth has a feature that shows you satellite maps from various years.

Thanks Walt. For those interested, Google Earth has various images dating back to 1995.

So funny how people in the midways just all stare at the guy on the bike as he goes through. It's fun to zoom in on rides and watch people board the rides and stand around looking at maps and eating, and see how long lines are.
I am curious if anyone can find Dick Kinzel in any of the shots. I have stumbled on a few faces that were not blurred at all as well as a few decent reflection shots of the google bike rider in the windows of stores.
I'm surprised how in depth it is.

Also.. Really not even in the street-view can you go to the top. lol

Wow... dragster is REALLY REALLY faded. It's been a couple years since I've been on point... but wow.... that's just BEGGING for a repaint.

Clicking on that link was officially the first time I've been in that barn! haha
Street View Google is utterly fascinating. The massive amount of streets and places already completed--not to mention everything being added daily--is going to prove a huge resource for sociologists and the study of culture in years to come. It's a gold mine of potential data.
Too bad Geauga Lake, and so many other great classic parks, went away before they could be so recorded for posterity.
