Could it be? The end of the agreement between Six Flags and Peanuts ends in December. Is it possible we see WB?
This will upset me greatly, far more than the sub-par operations I've seen this year.
I get the business side of such a decision. But if Peanuts goes it will still upset me.

If the departure of Peanuts characters is true, it'd be better off to leave the legacy CF parks without mascots for a while instead of using the Looney Tunes.

I'd find it ironic that all the kids' rides that make up Planet Snoopy would have to be re-themed/skinned from Peanuts BACK to Looney Tunes since they're all from the old Six Flags Ohio.
I don't remember where or when, but a long time ago we talked about the Peanuts, and if they were now "irrelevant" and not worth being used. Maybe it was over on C-Buzz. But at any rate, it turned out it made a lot of economic sense because the licensing for the Peanuts was not as $$ as, say, something like DC or Marvel.
I grew up in the "Berenstain Bears" era with Kid Arthur's Court. I always found that kind of odd because as a kid all I knew of those bears were the books I read in elementary school. If they had a cartoon it was a channel we didn't get, or maybe I just missed it.
The Peanuts, though, made a lot more sense to me. They're timeless. People my age know the comic strip and the holiday specials of course, and now a whole generation of kids has grown up with the Peanuts as being part of the fabric of Cedar Point. I thought it was kind've genius using a brand that's completely unpolarizing and innocent, and still somewhat relevant.
The Peanuts, themselves, are kids...trapped in time making popcorn for Thanksgiving. I always thought that was the point. Just like your memories as a kid running through the park are timeless and trapped in time, so is Snoopy and Woodstock.
Just waiting for you to comeback.

Screamscape had some good insight on this today if you wanted to check it out. Basically it boils down to recognition & the value of the IP; Peanuts may not be as relevant today as Bluey or Paw Patrol, but they are a lot more recognizable than Looney Tunes. Its also interesting that the DC rights that SF has does not include anything from the DCU, just the basic characters/settings from the comics. That opens the door for additional theming if they feel hamstrung by that.
Talking with my best friend today who is stationed at Andrews in D.C. (and is lamenting the loss of both SF America and the double blow of dropping Halloween last minute as it was what my niece was most looking forward to) and this subject came up. We ultimately decided on either Nintendo or Pokémon since my suggestion of Star Trek was roundly ridiculed.
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
Universal owns the theme park rights to both Nintendo & Pokemon. So neither of those would be a realistic option.
I never cared for peanuts, as it was already decades old when I was born in the 80s. But it’s become such a part of CP and its signs, marketing, merch, etc. It’ll be very weird to see Sylvester and porky running around. Haunts and now maybe characters are going the way of six flags, stands to reason the park names could be going that way too.

My .02 FWIW...
1) I dont care too much about characters at parks. Im much more interested in the rides, attractions, scenery, food & beverage, etc.
2) I think Peanuts characters are timeless, and my perception is that they appeal to all ages, including adults.
3) To me, the comic book and looney tunes characters are a turn-off. For me, they detract from the look, feel, and experience, and seem to make things seem childish.
4) The natural theming has much more value to me... the history, the beach, the lake, the natural and rustic scenery (Frontier Trail/Town) and the themes of the individual rides capture much more of my attention and imagination than comic book characters and WB cartoons.
5) Id much rather a coaster be themed after a siren, a wild animal, a mine train, a bird of prey, a racetrack, etc. than Superman or Batman for example. To me, that is silly.
6) If they want to use kiddie characters like that, keep it confined to the Kiddie Kingdom section of the park.
Just my opinion.
There is absolutely an aspect of wholesome charm that comes with the Peanuts IP as opposed to Looney Tunes. It'd be weird seeing a Bugs Bunny statue in place of the current Snoopy statue in the area where Planet Snoopy currently sits.

Yeah, this is one of my favorite pictures of my son who is now 2 inches taller than me. This Snoopy was on the bench in front of "Joe Cool Cafe" which pre-dated Melt, which is now vacant. He impulsively grabbed that tempting chocolate chip cookie and snapped it off. We brought it to an employee and about 2 months later it was super-glued back in place. No issues anticipated if Bugs Bunny is seated there as no child would think of grabbing a lousy carrot.
I guess not, yay! https://investors.sixflags....fault.aspx
