Good ride to ride this year?

This summer my dad's work is paying for all the employees to go to Cedar Point for the 2nd year in a row. I am going in early August, and I want to try to ride more of the rides this time because last year I was totally being a chicken. :(
I am thirteen years old, and I'm pretty small. It will be my second time at Cedar Point, but I only went on a couple roller coasters last summer.
I would like to know a roller coaster to try this time. I really don't want to ride any rides that are too big. I'm going to work my way up to that.
Any suggestions?
Thanks! :)

I love Cedar Point. <3

Hope you have a great time. What coasters have you been on?

Just ride Dragster and get it over with.

You might as well just do all of them and get it over with. After the first time you ride (say Millennium), you're going to want to do it over and over again.

Maverick (In My Opinion) is the best coaster there. It is a major attraction and only stands at 105 feet (while you have Dragster at 420 feet and Millennium at 310 feet). If the lines are short, I say go for all of them. Also, Wicked Twister is a fun one to prepare you for Dragster's launch. Just a thought.

In the other topic you said you rode Mean Streak. If you lived through that everything else should be a piece of cake.

You didn't mention what you rode last year, but I think you would really enjoy Gemini. It's fast, smooth and fun, but I think has the perfect intensity level to be thrilling but not over the top.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I would start with riding blue streak. Then i would go with gemini

and then corkscrew. Don't miss maverick. I would then ride

magnum, millennium force and then dragster. And don't forget the

new ride windseeker. Have fun.

Ride Disaster Transport, my son started with that because you can't see the track so you won't be intimidated by the look of it. After that Iron Dragon, Blue Streak, Gemini, Twister, how about Woodstock Express.

1)Magnum 2) Blue streak 3) Millennium 4)Diamondback 5) Maverick 6)Dragster (Point lover since 66 age 8)

First coaster i ever rode was Magnum. its a great first coaster I think. if you like it Millennium Force is just a bigger version of Magnum. after Magnum you can easily handle any of the smaller coasters ( Blue Streak, Gemini, Iron Dragon, exe) if you feel like pushing yourself try Raptor! its one of my favorites along with Maverick, if you can handle one you can handle the other... as far as Dragster goes... you just gotta do it and not think about it.. I never get scared on coasters.. but if i stand at the base of Dragster and watch it too long even I begin to think its crazy lol. my advice when you work you way up to it. don't think about it.. don't watch it while standing in line and just go for it!

I started with Blue Streak as a kid, and my first big ride was the magnum. After I got through with the magnum, everything else was downhill from there (haha)
but the Magnum was my first big ride, and it helped me to realize that there was nothing to be frightened of, and it made going on all the other big rides a lot easier for me. Sure, I hyperventilated the first time in line while waiting for TTD, but after that first launch, I quickly realized it was some of the best 17 of my life :)

Got my own page on the cedar point blog!!!

If you're afraid of heights, you want to start small and end tall. Start at one and work up:

1. Blue Streak
2. Gemini (Greatest roller coaster ever.)
3. Maverick (Although Gemini is taller than Maverick, Maverick is much more intense than Gemini.)
4. Magnum XL-200
5. Wicked Twister
6. Millennium Force
7. Top Thrill Dragster

Please. If you want to live, skip Mean Streak. It's painfully brutal.

I figure this might be a good place to fit this in...
My friend and I are going to the park in May. He is scared of pretty much any substantial roller coaster, due to height and he thinks they are unsafe (no matter how much I tell him otherwise).

This is the first time I've been to the park with him and he tells me he really only rides Iron Dragon, and Gemini. I'm trying to figure out what is like the next step up of coasters from there. Suggestions?

Like I said and pikajane said Magnum is a great first big ride, and a very logical next step. no loops, not terribly high 205ft (thought in its day it was tallest) not terribly fast 72mph (though also in its day I believe it was the fastest) Its a great out and back coaster that is just a fun ride.

Okay thanks Kevin. I was figuring either Magnum or maybe even Millennium. I think once he gets on one of those everything else should be pretty easy for him except Dragster and Raptor.

I had this problem as well, only the first park I went to and really went with the intention to actiually ride the rides was Busch Gardens in VA. Of course, Appollo's Chariot made me skeptical that I would be able to, but I started out on Loch Ness Monster and then just decided to try Appollo. I absolutely loved it, and finally knew what I had been missing for 16 years of my life. I rode everything in the park the next day, and finally went to CP to ride later that summer. You just have to get to the point where you realize that being scared is irrational
