Good places to eat (besides the Midway Market)?

Yo! I'm going to Cedar Point in a week and I'm sorta trying to plan my journey through the park ahead of time ("we'll go Milennium, then Maverick, then Mean Streak, then Magnum, then it'll be around dinnertime so we can go to ______ if we're hungry, else we'll run to Top Thrill Dragster, etc."). The missus doesn't want to eat at the Midway Market, though, because we always go there and anyway we always eat too much. So I'm asking: where should we go this time?

I always hit up the TGI Fridays (at the Hotel Breakers) they have a much better burger for not much more then at the park

Famous Dave's is also a good place to eat and Johnny Rockets pretty good to.

Macaroni's is a decent option also. I'm not a fan of their pizza but their subs and pastas are pretty good.

Cedar Point rocks my socks.

At your cabin in LHP. Cheap and relatively quick. And you can't beat the service.

Game Day Grille. A bit expensive, though the same compared to other park venues, but better quality. I've also always had outstanding service.

I tried Panda Express and I thought that was very good. Not too pricey, either.

Game Day Grille use to be a good place to eat when it was called Silver Dollar if I remember correctly, but over the years I found that I had to walk out and never return.

It might sound ridiculous, and its not a restaurant but the Boardwalk Fries under corkscrew might have been the best $3 dollars one could spend in a lifetime.

I didn't enjoy Macaroni's to much, I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak, maybe that really should only be made in Philadelphia.

I've always liked Johnny Rocket's. It's basic but good.

But I've never been to the Midway Market, it doesn't look to inviting to me for some reason. So does Roller Coasters or whatever the name of the restaurant is next to Iron Dragon.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

I'd have to recommend the Game Day Grille. We found the food to be good and the price reasonable. Recently we were pleasantly surprised by the fruit platter my wife ordered. It was a full size plate full of pineapple, grapes, strawberries and three different mellons. We were expecting a small bowl of canned fruit. It was about $8. Might be the best deal we've foodwise at CP.

Midway Market is still our favorite and yes we tend to eat to much there too.

I definetly reccomend Macoroni Grille, they have awesome pizza!!

After another great meal on Sunday, I'll highly recommend Famous Dave's. It's a nice escape from the busy midways of the park. The service and food is great, and the price isn't nearly as unreasonable as food prices inside the park.

Perhaps try a something a bit different.

Our typical routine is to eat a fairly large breakfast...usually at a local Bob Evans.

Throughout the day, we just "graze" on little things...specifically, we will usually each have 1-2 gourmet pretzels, a few beers, and i might also grab some fries.

Then, by the time we leave, we are ready for a nice meal again...Friday's, Chet and Matt's, etc...

Think of the "ride time" you save by not sitting down to a meal!

Then again, if that's not important, and you do want to sit down, I would also suggest Game-Day Grille. The white chili is great...especially if its a bit cooler outside.

Yeah I always get up an hour early and eat a huge breakfast, and then I just get small snacks in the park during the day. All that precious ride time being wasted on sitting down and eating?! I think not!

Coasters is a good place to eat when you want to have good food but don't want to wait like you do at Friday's or Game Day Grille for the food. It is also very central in the park so it is a good meeting place and you won't have to walk to the other end of the park to eat there. The new ChicFilA by Maverick is pretty good for lunch or a light meal/snack. And don't forget cheese on a stick! Are you staying at a Cedar Point resort or do you have a season pass with Joe Cool? If so you can get in an hour before the general public (9am). In that Case I would recommend going to the Soak City Gate by ~8:30am and running to Maverick right at 9am. You can accomplish a lot of the "wait time" for Maverick while the park isn't open so you have more time for other rides. Then after Maverick you could go to Millennium a few times and on with your plan (I think MS doesn't open til' 11am). Have a good trip!

Four discount funday tickets to Cedar Point: $130.96
Overnight stay at Breakers Express: $70
Riding rides the size of skyscrapers while "legally" breaking the local speed limit: Priceless

My favorite place to eat is at the picnic shelters outside the park, next to the main gate (on your right as you are walking in).

Probably the best food I've ever had at the park has been at this picnic shelter! The 3 times I have done it, it has been with Kosher meat, grilled ourselves!

And while it may be expensive to do a cookout at the park (with the price of all the ingredients, charcoal, etc., and for my 3 cookouts, the Kosher meat), it can be MUCH BETTER than the food in and around the park.

Midway market is mediocre, and I find Game Day Grille to be terrible. I used to like Johnny Rockets, and based on looking at the menu yesterday, their price may be the only one inside the park that is remotely a good value in relation to the food quality and location.

If you can, grill your own food. If you can't, I suggest Johnny Rockets, or a franchise food location. Just remember to bring matches if you grill your own food. The lighters the park sells aren't very good for grilling.

John McCain: The Ride

Being Mavericky since 2007!

I had Chett and Matt's pizza and this pizza was nothing special.
I get to eat Fricanos and Scribs all the time though. So maybe I am spoiled.

The burgers at Coasters really suck, but Famous Dave's and Macaroni's are great! Hopefully I'll remember that next year.

I agree with you guys about Famous Dave's. They have the best Rib Burgers I've ever had. I'll never pack a lunch again when I come. Now are the prices at Macaronis reasonable?

I think all park food besides TGI and Famous Daves works out to about $12-14 per person with drink.

Cheesy Cheeseburger at TGI is $9.59
Cajun Chicken Shrimp and Pasta is $12.99
Italian Quesadilla (sp) is $9.29

Happy hour is 3pm with half off appetizers though.

Id say Macronis, TGI Fridays, maybe if money is good the Pizza Hut or whatever buffet in the Breakers.

Didn't it used to be a place where you could get pizza, but not a Pizza Hut, I want to say Dominic's.

I remember when I was younger, my mom would call and my brother and I would go down and get the pizza, and then peak around in the gift shop and then come back up and eat it. Good stuff from what I remember.
