Good ol' Iron Dragon

This may sound a bit sappy, but I just can't get enough of the Iron Dragon.  I rode that steel beast back in '91, the first time I've ever been at the park, and I just fell in love with it.  Sure there's bigger machines now that are suspended, but the ID just has a special significance to me.  It's like a cradle.  I'll definitley miss that during the winter season.

I feel the same dude, It's not the best, but it's somthing special to me. Iron Dragon was the ride that made me love coasters! My friend and I rode it once 16 times in a day! It was a blast.

"Would you like some mist?!"
At night is the best for Iorn Dragon...Its a good ride!

I like riding Iron Dragon too.  I always try to get at least one ride on it when I'm at the park and there are lots of other rides that I can't say that about.  I think that it is just fun and relaxing to swing through the trees like that.
The last time I was there, we rode it twice. Once in the day, and once at night...the cool thing is that my friend and I had the whole train to ourselves because the station was empty. We jumped up front, and had fun yelling and screaming. :) The night rides on Iron Dragon are pretty cool. Especially when you have a good view of the vegetation around you.

Has anyone ridden Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens Williamsburg?  It is the same type of ride, but much more exciting than Iron Dragon.  I like Iron Dragon and always ride it when I go to CP, I just wish it had the speed, drops, and whip around like Big Bad Wolf does.
I like Iron Dragon also....(except for the harnesses which hurt and are cramped)! Ouch! Whenever I go to the park, I usually will get about 2 rides out of it. I love the feeling of air-time on the first hill. I know it's not much, but it's still a cool ride.  :)

Big Bad Wolf and Iron Dragon are not even in the same league but I like them both for different reasons.  Iron Dragon is a pretty ride in a pretty setting.

BBW is a pretty incredible ride in a pretty incredible setting.  The swoosh over the lake is breathless.  The pretzel over the pond is...less.

While great in the daylight, even better in the dark. Best seat in the house is front of the train. For a semi-tame coaster its still loads of fun!!!

I always thought it was a lame ride until i actually went last year. I found it pretty smooth and relaxing, and i didn't get as many bugs in my face as when i go on ninja at sfmm! I hope they don't tear it out!

I was just looking at the Power Tower cam, which gives a great shot of Iron Dragon's layout. I thought to myself "I love that ride."

I don't know what it is about that ride I like, but I shure know that I'd miss it if it were gone.

I love the ending. The middle, though... defines weak.
But don't you like gently floating through the trees?

I am a frequent flyer on the Dragon. It is my second favorite coaster after Raptor.
I really enjoy Iron Dragon because I've been able to introduce so many people to roller coasters on that ride. They come on frightened to death of roller coasters and come off with a new appreciation of what coasters are all about.

Digital..me and my husband rode it..at Busch..dont know whether it was the restraints or the ride itself..but something made my husbands back go into spasms after we got off that ride..even though its a good ride!

The more you ride it, the more you want it!

Does anyone know if Iron Dragon is similar to Top Gun at Kings Island?  I've ridden Top Gun but not Iron Dragon.  Our day is usually so filled with the other "million" ride as Cedar Point that I usually run out of time.
Iron Dragon is more relaxing and fun than Top Gun's drops and fast turns. I still recommend you ride ID, though. It is a great ride for it's size and age. It also has two lift hills, which is rare to me.

Top Gun at KI is more exciting than Iron Dragon.  Iron Dragon, as it has been described in the thread, is a relaxing roller coaster.  Nice and tame for entry level fans or those who don't want too much excitement.
