Good News!

This might be deleted but it's a nice little piece of info. In the Getaway Guide on page 15 First colmun in the coaster rider suggestion section it says:

Glasses must be secured by a tight fitting strap around the back of the head on Top Thrill Dragster!

This is good news for me cause I wear glasses and can't see much without them. Just thought I'd let everyone know. Sorry if it was a bad post.

What I thought interesting about that column was that it didn't mention MF...are they no longer afraid of people's glasses coming off and nailing other riders?

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

When did you get the Getaway Guide? I ordered one a long time ago and never got one.
I ordered my guide last year and recieved one last year and I also just got this years guide today!

That's not news... we mentioned that after hearing Jasper and Sphen speak a few months ago.

First time I have heard it, and I am here daily - thanks for the info - Great News - since I wanted to wear mine as well.

Tom

I wore my sunglasses on MF and they never once came off. The only ride that I couldn't wear them on was Power Tower. I can see why they would want them to be secured on TTD.

I haven't gotten my getaway guide, either. When did you guys get yours? I ordered mine a while ago. Does anyone know exactly when they were sent out?

This is probably a stupid question but how do you get one.

I just got my guide today. There is somewhere on CP.com where you sign up for it. I don't remember where it is though, I got a link from a freind a few years ago.
CP_bound, they eliminated the eyeglass securement rule on Millennium Force back when the height requirement was still 54"! They never changed the signs, but they did change the rule.

I dont understand. why would your glasses fall off? accelerating would push them on you and going 120mph I dont think they will fall off. in my oppinion that rule is just stupid. when I am riding I would like to see and without my glasses I am unable to see. hence rendering the total effect of the ride useless. I am unsure of the actual safty issue behind it.

If you were to turn your head while going around a sharp turn, there's a possibility your glasses could come off.

Opening Day is just a month away!!!

They made me take mine off power tower when they were secured.
Psycho, they probably want them secured for the top hat because there will be major air time on the top of this thing, which could take the glasses off your head, and then the glasses could fall down to the midway below, and they could hurt some one if the glasses landed on some one.

Glasses are kind of a must for me, too. On WT and PT, I almost always get asked if my glasses are secure. Basically, I just strap 'em on when I get in the gate and don't take 'em off til I get to my car at night. On MF, Maggie, Corkscrew, and Raptor I'm usually able to notice my glasses move around a bit, but I don't worry about losing them. And the straps aren't so bad. Girls can hide them under a pony tail or braid.

It's just gotta warm up soon! It's just gotta!

My need for speed is second only to my need to be inverted! No wonder Raptor is my favorite!
