I plan on making a couple of more trips to CP this summer (one possibly being for two consecutive days) and was wondering, while staying in a motel, if Sandusky has any good "non-chain" pizzerias, or perhaps Chinese restaurants? If not right in Sandusky, at most within 15-25 minutes of Sandusky?
Cameo Pizza or Chet and Crap, er Matt's Pizza...i don't like either of them, but many people rave about it. Manny's at Bogart and 250 has a killer burger and loaded fries. The Sandbar in Huron has a wicked Philly Cheesestead Sanmmich. The Better Half on Washington street has decent Quesedillas, too.
I can't name them..but Cedar Point has some excellent foods and beverages.
I would like to have a battle of the wits with you...but you seem unprepared.
Ugh, I know you said non-chain but Pizza Hut has that all-you-can-eat buffet. Ugh, I don't know of any chinese. There is an Outback. And RedLobster if you want seefood. This is probably no help but just my two cents.
If you're going to go to an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet, you simply can't beat the one at East of Chicago (located right on the Causeway) for both price and quality.

Max & Erma's is good, it's not pizza or chinese but good.
I can't remember the exact location but we ate at a chinese buffet at the end of last season. I'm guessing it had to be on 250. It was average.

It's a mexican place now, Macho. There is a Chinese buffet in the mall called City Buffet.
You mean there are places to eat that aren't chains?
I'm not sure of the best way to Margaritaville, but I have been there 3 times with my wife. We both really like it! It's where I was first introduced to habenaro(sp) pepper sauce( I thought being green it was mild)
Ahhhhh C.P. My Happy Place!
Green can be BAD! Taste a small amount before covering your food with it...

Margaritaville is pretty easy to find: take US 6 west from the causeway. I believe it's just a bit past Tofts. If you hit Rt 2, you've gone too far.
Rt 6 takes a sharp turn to the left a little ways past Tofts, even though the road goes straight towards Bayview. Margaritaville is right on that intersection, to your left. It's only about 10 or 15 min. from CP.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Is East of Chicago a buffet place all the time? I know at Pizza Hut, it's only a buffet weekdays, and at certain times. So, if your heading straight towards the causeway, you take a right to get to East of Chicago? I'll probably go there.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.
Yes, it is always a buffet. It's right on the Causeway - across the street from the McDonalds. Unless you're driving with your eyes closed, you can't miss it. Follow the
link in our discount section and it'll only cost you $4.

Thanks a lot, I'm definately going there (East of Chicago). I just checked out their website, also, and their food looks 100 times better than Pizza Hut. I wonder how come I've never seen more of these places around. Their selection is broad and good, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

Oh! This pizza place sounds too good to pass up, and it's like a five minute walk from wehere we're staying. Awesome!
The best food in Sandusky is....Fazolis! Its on Milan Road. It fast italian food. I've been there five times and the longest time I've waited to get food was a minute. The food is great too. My favorite item is Fettucini Alfredo with Peppery Chicken.
Fazolis is great if you like chain quality, overpriced, chemical tasting, psuedo italian food. Their breadsticks do, however, rock.
