I was checking out some of the pictures of Sandcastles Suites, and noticed that the water at the beach doesn't look as good as the water at HB's beach. Is one better than the other? Not that the water at HB looks great, but at least I know the beach area, and there are more people in that beach.
For all I know, SS might not have its own beach.
There's a "beach" there, but I don't believe you can use it (ie: swimming). I think you have to go and use the Hotel Breakers beach.

The beach out by Sandcastle at the very tip of the peninsula has a rock wall between it and the water. Over in the direction of the light house there is a lot of beach, but it's not kept up as nicely as the Breaker's one because it's really not meant for people to be out there.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
With the break wall right there, the water, along with whatever is floating in it, flows into that beach and sort of becomes trapped. And has nowhere to go. It more less just swirls around and around until it ends up on the beach. There is very little Cedar Point can do about it. They do rake and clean the beach itself as much as possible, but since the water does recycle as much as it does farther down the beach, it’s not as clean. Plus when tide comes up, that beach becomes very small. You are not allowed to swim there. You have to use Breakers Beach.
Thanks for all your info. It didn't look like a good place to swim. Now I know better.
I can see it now; lifegaurds screaming at us to get out of the water because it was not safe for swimming, and people gathering and pointing, and laughing at us!! OH NO!!! We will swim at Breakers, and have a fantastic vacation. Thanks again.
Sandcatle Suites isn't at the best locaction compared to the Breakers, at the Breakers you have the beach and it's a very close walk to the park. Sandcastle has a beach to walk on, but not swim and it has a very far walk to the park.
