Golden Ticket...why?

Anyone have a clue as to why Superman: Ultimate Escape was ranked better than Wicked Twister??

I've been on both, and personally I like WT better. Some people may like the brake on the back spike of SUE better. To each their own, they are both great rides.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I like them the same. WT is bigger, but S:UE gets up higher and has a holding brake. Both of them have strengths and weaknesses.

S:UE had 0.32% of the total points. Wicked Twister had 0.25% of the total points. I think it's a stretch to say that people overwhelmingly like S:UE. Statistically, they might as well be tied with everyone else in the bottom 20. You wouldn't get a true sense of which ride is preferred unless you directly asked the voters to pick which one was best.

wicked twister didnt beat sue because there are only so many votes per region. i guess that sue is in a pretty sucky region for coasters, so thats how it came out.

Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!

Some people just the brakes better, that's all. I think I might too...
Nitro, If WT is bigger, how can a ride 30 ft shorter get higher?? FYI they aren't brakes they're LIMs that actually push the train up, but it's so heavy it just hangs for a second. WT is faster, quicker launch, taller, more twists and tighter twists, not to mention it runs better!

My, aren't we testy today! Hydraulic, magnetic, pneumatic, skid--however it stops a train it still performs the function of a brake, right? Right?

You know, CF's only park with an attendance increase this year just added a (gasp) standard Impulse. They can't suck too bad now, can they?

Vallyfair's attendance increase because they added a major new ride. Vallyfair doesn't get coasters every year or every other year like CP, so a coaster is a big deal. Steel Venom is the largest edition to Vallyfair for a few years now and that attracts the people from that area. What I'm trying to get at is it wasn't an standard impulse that attracted the people it's the ride.

CP Coaster Guide Ride Count
TTD: 1; WT: 9; MF: 4; Mantis: 3; Raptor: 6; Mean Streak: 5; Magnum: 5

Are ya sure about that?

- SFGAM's already had the exact same ride two years ago

- It's actually the shortest major addition since '96. WT and PT both dwarf it and it stands next to a SkyTower that's only five feet shorter, but may stand on a higher plot of land.

-If attendance holds to projections, it will equal or surpass 2000 attendance for PT's debut--except PT was built in the days of a booming economy, boatloads of corporate bookings and frankly, big admission discounts flying everywhere. That wasn't the case this season.

- Have you ever seen the look on the GP's faces--riders, passerby, anybody--every time the train stops? It never gets old.

It's not the fact it's a new ride, it's the fact that it's a Standard Impulse. You couldn't possibly have it more backwards.

everyone has their own opinion... thats why.
I have been on both, and i WT is a much better ride. First of all the luanch on S:UE isnt that long, i love the long luanch WT has. Ansd alos i dont see whats so special about this holding break, it actaully kinda hurt as you were slammed into the OSRs. I personally like the twist on the back spike, probably b/c i usually ride in the back and you get all the way up on that spike the second time around.
I've ridden both and I like WT better in every way but one. I love the queue on S:UE because it goes right under the track with just a mesh screen thing. I love being able to just look up and see track like that. Other than that one little detail though WT wins no problem in my book. I really didn't like the holding break either, it did kind of hurt when you hit the restraint.

I loved WT when it first opened. Not anymore. If they would go back to the original program, it would be a great ride, it is a good ride still, but not great.

S:UE is my favorite of the two, I absolutely love the holding break. It's obvious why CP did not build a standard, but I think they should have kept it under 200 feet with dual twisting towers. They might have been able to keep the original program.

When talking about the original program, are you talking about the added supports on Wicked Twister or the fact that CP had both spikes have twists? Honestly, I think the twisted spikes on both ends make it much better of a ride because you feel the twisting sensation from the back seat and the front seat. Sure, the holding break is awesome, but it isn't anything great. Jesus, Hercules had a holding break...see where it got that ride...(laughs).

I would vote Wicked Twister hands down. But, damn the LIMs on the back tower are pretty neat...When the LIMs kick on the whole tower leans back because of the weight. It looks like if the train stayed up there the tower would snap at the base..
