I am 61 and CP is still a thrilling place for my 68 yr. old hubby and I. We are coaster nuts and it just wouldn't be summer without our annual trips to CP. We are season's pass holders and it involves a 8-10 hour drive for us from kewanee Il( 15o miles west of Chicago. I dread the day when the trip will become too much for us. We usually go 5-10 times and the gas price hike is going to put a crimp in that this year* sigh
I was wondering how many, if any, others on here are in our age group. I can't believe we are unique in our love..
I refuse to grow old !
I got 46 more years to go.

101 on Magnum and counting...
It takes my family three hours to get to CP. My parents aren't concerned with the rise in gas prices.
You're about 45 years older than I am...

Carolyn,
I'm in the next age group down..18-54. I'm 43, actually and still enjoy the park every season. 5 hours from Holland, Michigan.

That is so great! I am only 24, and only live about an hour away, but I hope that I'm still thrilled with CP when I get to be your age. I wish that my husband felt the same way, but he doesn't think there is enough thrill in roller coasters. He races motocross and plays hockey, and he doesn't like having no control over the coasters. I just read him your post, and someday I still hope to get him more excited about going to CP. He only goes for his yearly madatory trip in October (I, on the other hand, go at least 10X per year).
You're an inspiration!
Hi Carolyn,
Like Mr Scott, I'm in the next age band down, I am 44 years old, also about 8-10 hours from the park in the Albany NY area. We try to get to CP at least 3 times/season...but it doesn't always work. Time and money always get in the way, and the gas prices this year *are* going to put a crimp in things. We're coaster freaks who live closer to at least 4-5 parks with some comparable coasters and other rides...but we prefer CP hands down over any other.
Have a great time this summer!

Well, I'm 46 and get to the park often. It helps to dock a boat right next to the causeway, so I'm in the area every weekend. I get all the household stuff done during the week after work. It makes for long days sometimes, but come Friday evening it's playtime. We go to one of the islands for part of the weekend and then spend time either in the amusement park or Soak City, usually Bubbles Bar when at Soak City.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I'm 51, am also a CP Season Pass holder (2 hour drive from metro detroit area), and I plan to keep riding ... hopefully until the day I die.
I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead
I myself am 41. And I do work at the Point. I took a 4 year hiatus but now I'm back again. I only live about 15 minutes away. So it's been like my backyard playground for years. I myself been going since I was about 3. I remember when i was young and had to hang with my older brother and all he would do is ride Blue Streak over and over. Well if any of you happen to come by the train stop and introduce yourself. Hope everyone has a great season.

Hey Carolyn! I'm 42 and still love to ride. Three years ago, we took the extended family to CP for a vacation, including our then 61 year old mother. We warmed her up on a few of the tamer coasters, and when she started to remember how much she enjoyed riding, we put her on Magnum, seat 1-3. Didn't know "Mom" could turn that white. She cussed us out the rest of the day, but you could tell she was secretly proud to have ridden Maggie. Two years ago, it was SFWoA and Batman. She almost got out of the que twice, but she eventually rode, and then rode again! Last year, it was BGT, and she did them all except Kumba and Montu. She really wanted to ride both, but had an eye problem and the doctor said no looping coasters until healed. So anyways, you're not alone. And while not a coaster fanatic, like you, our mother still enjoys her coasters and trips to the parks. Keep on rollin'!

Carolyn, you go girl. I am 50 now, only 18 more seasons before i catch up to you. I live 2.5 hours away and have not missed a season of Cedar Point since 1962. How many years have you and your husband been going?
I'll look for you two this summer-you'll be the ones actually on the rides instead of some bench holding the purses!
I'm the oldest one here. CP emp '73-'74
This is going to be my first season where I'll be visiting consectutive times.
I'll see all of you there!
