Going to Cedar Point in 3 days.. tips for these rides?

I'm going on the 30th. These are the Roller Coasters I think im going to ride. Last year all I could ride was Iron Dragon and Mine Ride. My mom doesnt like running back and forth in the park so we are riding Iron Dragon then Millennium! Do you have any tips for these rides(Never been on any of them and im scared of them all)-
- Millennium Force
- Magnum
- Gatekeeper
- Maverick
- Gemini
- Blue Streak
- Dragster
- Mean Streak
- Corkscrew

I'm not really scared of heights its just the drops. I've been looking forward to going all year and I really don't want to chicken out

- Millennium Force- best with hands up IMO
- Magnum- sit near the back. The drop will be faster.
- Gatekeeper- can't figure out the best way to ride yet.
- Maverick- not sure.
- Gemini- front is alot smoother
- Blue Streak- ^same
- Dragster- arms down, head back, hold on ;)
- Mean Streak- if you must do it, wait in front row. It is worth it. Also keep back away from the seat.
- Corkscrew- IMO the roughest ride in the park. If you wear earrings, take them off and during the ride good luck.

I'd recommend the 2nd row for Maverick, that's my favorite.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

Magnum is a front seat coaster IMO like meanstreak it will beat you up.All i can say about maverick is brace yourself good or the OTSR's will try to take your head off. I always ride with my hands up on TTD because you dont have to worry about OTSR like on kingda krap! lol

First I want to say that I used to be terrified of all of them! I'd get so nervous to ride them. Just do it, and you will be glad you did. Don't chicken out! They are all short, and will be over with before you know it.

Front seat on them all. :) It is worth it. Ride with your hands up. But most importantly, just let your body relax and go with the ride. If you try to fight it, or fight the airtime (the feeling of coming out of your seat), it will be less fun and more scary.

If you are scared, or don't want to wait for the front..ride in the middle. It makes for a more mellow ride on all of the coasters, at least in my experience.

Millenium Force - Ride the front seat, and avoid the yellow train. I know it looks intimidating, but it is one of the smoothest rides in the park. I have never seen a single person come back into the station without smiling and cheering.

Magnum - I like it in the front seat too. It's a little bit rough, but amazing. It has a lot of airtime, so if you like airtime you will like this one.

Gatekeeper - I have only been on it once. I rode front seat, inside, on the right. It was an amazing ride. Not scary AT ALL.

Maverick - It is a bit rough and throws you around, but it is a lot of fun. Don't chicken out. You will regret it, because it could be one that you absolutely love.

Gemini - Front, red train. Small good coaster. We usually start out on it to get our bodies used to the feeling of being on a coaster, if we haven't been to the park in a long time.

Blue Streak - It has a lot of airtime too. It is a little bit rough, but you will love it. It is small and not scary at all.

Dragster - Do not chicken out. You will love it, and it is over with before you know it.

Mean Streak - It's very rough, so I avoid it.

Corkscrew - Just relax and it will be a fun ride. It is VERY short though.

If you can, try to ride Raptor and MaxAir too. They are awesome. With Raptor, just relax and sit back. If you sit forward the restraints might bump your head a bit.

Have fun, and don't chicken out! They are all awesome. Otherwise we wouldn't be on this site talking about them all of the time. :)

And remember that airtime is supposed to feel like you are falling out of your seat. So don't freak out and think that you are actually going to fall out. I used to think that when I first starting riding coasters, and it would ruin the ride and scare the crap out of me.

Like I said, just relax your body and let the ride take out. I promise you will have an awesome time.

Oh, and start at the back of the park in the morning and work your way up. Avoid Raptor at lunch time! It's the difference of a 2 hour wait to a 1/2 wait if you ride later in the evening. Same with most of the front of the park. So ride the coasters in the back first.

Come back and tell us about it in a trip report too. :)

^ why avoid the yellow train on Millenium? I have ridden yellow twice already and once on red and blue and haven't noticed a difference.

Maybe it's just me then. lol.

Corkscrew isn't rough...tips to ride:

Red train car two row one left seat, don't staple your restraint, plant your feet on the wall in front of you rest your arms straight in the top of the car through the first drop and relax...tons of fun

Corkscrew, Power Tower, Magnum, & Monster/ Witches Wheel Crew 2011

Have fun! It's perfectly ok to be nervous, but once you ride them, you'll want to keep going on them. As already mentioned, DO NOT go to GateKeeper, Raptor, Wicked Twister, or really any ride in the front of the park to start. Instead, go to Maverick in the back of the park 1st. After this hit up Mean Streak (beware, it's really rough), and continue coming back toward the front of the park by getting on Gemini and Magnum. Then go on Dragster. Don't worry, it's over really fast and is a great ride. You have to try it! Next I'd recommend going to Millennium. My favorite place to ride is the front, and it's my favorite ride in the park. You'll absolutely love it. Then maybe try Corkscrew, but I don't like it since I think it's rough and is very short.

Next keep heading to the front of the park and go to either Raptor, GateKeeper, and Wicked Twister (even though WT wasn't on your list, you should go on it. It's a really fun ride). By now the lines shouldn't be too long for any of these 3 so if you have time, ride all of them. Plus Blue Streak is nearby and never has a long line.

Hopefully the weather is good, since this can make or break your visit. Also since you'll be there on a weekday it won't be too crowded, but don't expect to have super short lines all day. Overall, just have a fun trip, and go on whatever you want. Hopefully you'll be able to ride everything on your list. One last recommendation: If you have time, be sure to ride Millennium at night. It's awesome!

Top 5 CP Coasters: 1. Steel Vengeance 2. Millennium Force 3. Maverick 4. Dragster 5. Magnum
Coaster Count: 102

On maverick do your best to keep your head in the middle of the restraints so it doesnt bounce around. Once I figured that out I enjoyed the ride much more

Here's what happend-
When we got there the millennium looked so big! I was with my mom and my sister and my friend. When we got there they wanted to ride blue streak but I was too scared so we went to ride iron dragon since it was the only one I rode at cedar point besides mine ride and Woodstock express. I was scared at first then it was fun. We got off and went for blue streak I made a scene there lol I was freaking out. It was fun the hills were crazy I was flying out of my seat at one point I was half standing up I loved the airtime feeling. Then we walked past maverick lines were too long. Then we went on gemini I went on blue and we won it was fun but I was getting jerked around a lot of the time. Then we rode the monster god it took forever for them to load it and unload it!! Then the magnum I was do annoyed seeing all the fast lane people just cut us all. I was scared but it was fun and scary the hold in the tunnells were scariest and I felt like I was falling out on the pretzel loop. Then we had dippin dots. They were good. Then we got in line for millennium just me and my mom my sister and friend were scared my sister is 19 and my friend is 13. My sister said she would ride it if I did and I did but she didnt because she said that when I was scared of blue streak. The line was long. Little kids were in line too!!! Like the youngest I saw was maybe 6. I was freaking out in the station I tried to get off but they wouldn't let me. Then we went up I put my head down because it usually takes away the scariness( learned that from iron dragon) but I couldn't get my head back up I wanted to see what was going on but I couldn't!!!! I missed almost the whole ride all I saw was the bottom of the train I couldn't get my head back up too much forces and speed on me and my neck hurt I really wanted to see the ride I got my head up and I saw that turn after the 182 ft hill but then my head went back down and wasn't back up till the second tunnell. I saw the rest of the ride. But the first hill was weird I barely felt any of the stomach feeling and I couldn't see it because my head was trapped down. I think it was because my neck hurt alot and my body was focused on my neck and not what was happening outside of me I felt airtime on the other hills just not the first hill. God I need to ride it again and get the full experience!! When we were going up the hill my head was down and then i lifted it and saw that we were at the top and I said oh **** really loud then I hid my head. Hopefully my sister will take me next month. We only go once a year and we just visit we don't stay there or anything we were there for 6 hours. I. Didnt ride gatekeeper the first hill scared me with the upside down and I didn't ride corkscrew cause I was never on an upside down ride before. Maverick the line was too long. Dragster we didnt have time and I was kinda scared of it. Raptor too much upside down! Mantis I'm not standing on a coaster! Mine ride is scary not scary but it shakes and it's so old and I don't wanna ride it. Mean streak is apparently super rough so we skipped it. Wicked twister if they couldn't stop it it would keep going and eventually fly off the track. When we left I just looked back and watched until the millennium force and dragster disappeared. It was fun :)

Its fun to read how excited you were for everything. I hope you get to go again soon and learned your lesson about keeping your head back like they tell you too

I can assure you that Wicked Twister cannot fly off the tracks, and you missed out on a great ride by skipping it :( It's launched with LSMs (basically magnets) and gravity stops it on the spikes as it goes up. I'm glad you had a good time!

Sit in the far back seat when riding Iron Dragon, it makes it much more intense in my opinion.

May The Millennium Force Be With You!
