going to cedar point

I'm new to the message board and i'm going to Cedar Point sometime in July. I live in New Jersey so it's a pretty major trip. It'll prbly be a 3 day trip(10 hours to get there, 1 full day in the park, 10 hours back) Can some of you guys that go there a lot plz tell me when the best times would be to g to avoid the yearly storms of mayflies and other insects and a good but reasonably cheap place to stay. If there's any other info that you think would be important for a newcomer to the park (and ohio) plz write it. im a little nervous so any feedback would be nice. thnx.
Probably not right around the 4th and we don't know all about the crowds exactly here, unless you believe in my crystal ball. Here's some links about hotels though!

Crady Crady!! CRADY CRADY!!
During the week, a Tuesday or Wednesday would be best, or just plain more than one day if you can pull it off! For easiest driving, take the turnpike and follow the signs. Hotels aren't bad, and they're plentiful so you shouldn't have a problem there. Most important, have fun! :)

You have a crystal ball, force312? I thought only Dan had his magic 8 ball...hmmm :)

I don't know which one would be better, but if you ask the eight ball it always has a answer :).

I forgot to mention, I ask all my CP questions to Cleo. I found it kind of odd though she said Maggie was cheating on me.
