first time taking my 3 and 5 year old.. so we will mainly be just hanging out in the kiddie sections.. Will rides like the Big ferris wheel and train be crazy packed also.. I know Saturday is the worst day to go.. but with our jobs it just worked out that way... did they get rid of the steamboat ride? its been a while since I've been at CP

Tough to say what the crowd will be on any given day. Though from my experience, Cedar Point typically is crowded any day in July and early August. So expect the park to be crowded. Good news from your perspective is that the kiddie areas typically are not as crowded. There are two Camp Snoopy areas (with somewhat bigger rides still geared towards young kids) and two classic kiddie areas (with the multi colored umbrella rides that go in circles). If any given ride has a long line, go to another and come back to the first later.

Ferris Wheel and the train may have long lines at certain points in the day. Just try to minitor them as you are walking around the park and hit them when the line looks manageable. The paddlewheel boats are gone.

Your kids may also enjoy the Dinosaurs (though it costs extra/per person). Petting zoo, glass glowing, etc. are still in Frontier area in the back of the park.

If you can, I would suggest bringing a wagon. Even if your kids want to walk from ride to ride, putting them in the wagon to move from one part of the park to another will save a lot of time and energy for your kids.

thanks for the info.. the wagon idea is a great one.. of course we don't have a wagon :( does CP have anything we can rent at the front gate? thanks

We use a big stroller, even though my kids are 5 and 7 now. Inevitably one of them will want to take a break and ride instead of walk. I call it the "mobile command center", as this is where we house our platinum passes, wallets, keys, cooler (below the stroller), raincoats, etc. It even has a couple of cup holders up top for our sovenier cups!

To be honest I hate wagons... they are not designed for men to pull (handles are usually short), they are not ergonomically favorable, and provide no shade without an umbrella. They usually lack some of the other compartments mentioned above, as well.

I'll be bringing a stroller into the park forever. We even take it with us into the park when just my wife and I go on HW!

Yes you can rent a stroller at the Rental Center near the main gate. Also you can check this out on their website for more information. http://www.cedarpoint.com/plan-a-visit/helpful-hints-for-families

I love Cedar Point

may have to do the stroller idea... if it gets bad enough, I can just carry the 3 year old.. I just have to see if the 5 year old can still fit in the stroller we have.. :( we gave or big stroller away to another family

Little people mover of your choice (be it wagon or stroller) will be a big help. Our wagon must have had a long handle because at 6'2, I never had issues with it being too short. I don't miss the stroller/wagon days. Liked being able to bring in water to the park with us but I gladly buy a couple bottles of water during the day in exchange for not having to deal with a wagon/stroller all day.

I didn't realize that CP still had the glass blowing. Shows how much I pay attention when I'm on Frontier Trail.

Bike trailer with the stroller conversion kit is our choice of a kid hauler! As stated above, lots of crap can go behind the seat, hold drinks and whatever else we want to throw in there. This works out really well when it's crowded, and we don't have to worry about our kids getting trampled over.

When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835

CP does rent wagons at the front gate too I'm pretty sure.

The glass blowing demonstrations are really interesting. Definitely worth stopping to watch for a bit.

I used to watch the demonstrations all the time, but I guess over the years I had forgotten about it and assumed that it wasn't there anymore.

But, I should know what assumptions make.
