I apologize if this has been conclusively answered before, but it seems to me different people have had different experiences with this. I understand that if you wear glasses, you must wear a strap on MF. (That takes care of my husband). However, what is recommended for contacts? I wear soft contacts, and am worried that the wind might dry my eyes out, or force me to lose a contact. (I thought someone here said they lost a contact). I don't want to ride "blind" (I'm worse than 20/200!), nor do I want to close my eyes. So, should I wear sunglasses with a strap to keep the wind out of my eyes? What are some others' experiences here with contacts/glasses?

You can pick your friends & your nose, but you can't pick your seat on MF.
My better half has in fact lost a contact, but it only happened in the front seat. You'll probably be OK in other seats.

I have ridden MF 6 times (twice in the front) and never had any problems with my contacts.
I always had trouble with my contacts drying out on most rides. That's just me, they dry out easily. But I've never had a problem on any ride when I wear sunglasses with my contacts. And, hey, you look more cool with sunglasses anyway right??
If you blink enough, you'll be fine. Both myself and my dad rode front seat w/ soft lenses and did okay. My eyes dried out by the overbank, but lasted just fine.

I also wear soft lenses and after 11 laps (2 in the front) I haven't had any problems. It seems that unlike most people, my eyes water excessively instead of drying up. I just make sure to blink a lot because too many tears can also be bad.
It appears that the "you must have a strap" requirement for eyeglasses did not last much past opening day. It's still noted on the sign at the ride entrance, but if you are bespectacled and unstrapped, you should not have problems based on what I have seen thus far.
Regardless of your optical condition...myopic, contact lenses, or perfect 20/20...I personally recommend the use of some form of eye protection if you are planning to ride in the front seat just as a matter of personal safety. Eyeglasses, sunglasses, safety goggles, ski mask, racquetball glasses, motorcycle helmet, face shield, whatever. Anything to keep the wind and debris out of your eyes, so that when you get off of the ride your vision is just as clear (or unclear, as the case may be) as it was when you got on board.
Oh, one disclaimer...beer goggles are not particularly recommended... :)

I like the eye protection that glasses provide. You can see the ride so much better - especially the fast ones - without the wind in your eyes. And don't forget the bugs on the night rides.
I rode with my contacts in, and I didn't have any problems at all! My ride was great, and clear. :-)

I have soft-contacts too, and I wore my sunglasses, with a strap, just to be safe. I even wore my sunglasses at night so I couldn't see the track at all! My friend who doesn't have contacts didn't wear any sunglasses and he said that his eyes were dry after MF.

Gotta love those Amish women!

Soft contacts also, no problems of any kind without any type of eye protection.
